Shot the C-9 experimenting with new ammo. Someone told me they used Crosman pellet gun oil since Hi points don't like oil. The lady at Hi point told me machine oil, what did she mean 3 in one oil, Any advise ref to oiling would be appreciated

I used that new fangled "Frog Lube" on my C9 and the feeding issues with the Winchester steel cased ammo cleared up.

YMMV

Really? Why wouldn't a gun like gun oil?

Rem Oil, CLP, Hoppes... All good on any HP I've ever serviced.

I haven't tried it yet - But Ex says that Frog Lube is the best stuff he's used...
He says it stays where you put it.

If I'm going to the range and figuring on shooting several hundred rounds through my JHP, I have used a heavy oil...
literally some 80-90wt rear end oil (for a car differential - That kind of rear end!!) and it' worked fine.

I usually take some oil with me to the range now when I shoot that many rounds and add a couple drops if I think it needs it.

I still use the sample of steel shield (weapon shield) oil from years ago...a very little goes a long way.

http://www.steelshieldtech.com/products/weapon-shield/

Never bought any so can't say anything on price/availability. The sample came in a nice machine oiler syringe. Nice for putting it on precisely.

All to remember, FrogLube is essentially a dry lube. Goes on wet, let sit, then wipe dry. Remaining liquid has been known sometimes to
get thick. I will add that I have NEVER seen a better corrosion preventer!!!

Here in the Phoenix heat, I normally use TW-25 grease for moving parts (full synthetic with WIDE range of temps) and FrogLube on exposed
steel to KILL any issues with humidity, perspiration or other moisture causing any kind of corrosion.

People that duracoat guns HATE frog lube... they say its impossible to get it out of the pores of the metal and it leaves spots in the paint... I guess that is a backward compliment to it in a way......

I'd agree. But FrogLube does make a solvent for their lube that gets it off.
