My 995TS was the first magazine fed firearm I've ever owned. Absolutely reliable with the factory mags. I bought a couple 15 round pro mags. One fed excellent the other needs a little work. Never had any problem with the factory ones. I would trust the firearm with my life (with the factory 10's in it, that is).

Do yourself a favor and any additional mags you buy. buy them directly from HP. They're cheap and Mom ships them overnight.

Oh and welcome to the only HP resource you'll ever need. But a word of caution, keep your hands away from Amp, he bites.

Good Advice. :thumb: Also include the mag holder and that mom doesn't charge shipping and handling.

i dont think i have ever seen a better support system with so many helpful people. once i get the guns in 2-4 weeks i will definitely include range reports and any feedback :) but until then im gonna keep on this site and keep talking to all you great people. so continuing the topic i hear the 9mm is the cheapest ammo out of them all but i have read the th .40 and the .45 have less ftf or fte issues...is this really the case and why do we think this is?

I can't attest for the .40 or .45, others here have them and they can tell you. But I've never had Any FTF or FTE from my 995ts, so I don't see how you could get any better than that.
I wanted a 4595ts, but HP black listed me from owning one. They said I was dangerous enough with the 995ts and a 4595ts would make me an even more lethal Weapon. :doublegun:

Seriously bud, it's kinda of a joke that started here after I started bitching about not being able to find a 4595ts until after I bought my 995ts. Then My LGS got a few in. Lol.

I can only speak from experience, but I have had 1 old school 995 and 2 old school 4095 carbines, and none of them were any more reliable than the other IMO... they all went bang when I pulled the trigger except for just a couple of times between all 3 carbines.

The Hi Point carbine is one of the best bargains out there in my opinion.

Mech, last time I checked, you were still on the "black list". Sorry Bud, guess you are going to have to borrow my 4595 to shoot, if you ever get up this way.

I think about everyone has their favorite gun oil. I've used several, currently I'm test Italian Gun Grease, and I'm really like it. However there are many other great oils. Frog Lube, is another. Hoppes Number 9 is a good standard oil. Any is better than nothing.

Just for clarity, Hoppes #9 is not an oil. #9 is basically a bore solvent.

well that sucks cuz it can get pretty freakin humid in minnesota. but i will keep that in mind. any recommendations for decent brand gun oil?

Just my 2 cents...
Hoppes makes a decent oil as does Remington. But for me, the best lube for value, lubricity, staying power, ability to "soak" into the metal, is CLP.

Here is a thread with some comments on CLP and some of the other lubes
