New to the forum, but not to guns or Hi Point. I was taught to shoot in 1973 by the military and currently have a few guns. I'm not a collector, just have guns for different purposes. I've had a C9 for about a year, decided if I was going to get a pistol-caliber carbine might as well get the Hi Point, since I like the C9, which is a good shooter, accurate enough at short range and relatively little recoil--and the 995 has a lot of positive reviews online. So far I like this little carbine.

Welcome to the most eclectic mix of geniuses I've run across on the internet. (Excluding me). I've learned more about firearms here than anywhere else I can think of. And they're not pretentious. I come up with some pretty stupid stuff....and they haven't kicked me off yet. So, again, welcome aboard and don't be afraid to "jump in with both feet". (Something EX told me 6 months ago).

There are some wonderful folks here!! (-:

If "eclectic" means lots of weird and different people...
That's a pretty good description!!

And like George said - feel free to jump right in - with both feet!!

Welcome to our slightly dysfunctional family. Most of us think we know what we're talking about and are glad to share any misinformation we can.

Just kidding, there are some knowledgeable folks here that freely share what they know.

The 995 and 995ts are great guns
I've had one for 6 or 7 years, and had a TS but traded it off.
Both are crazy accurate and dependable.
My old monkey gun is my skunk gun, it's the only one I trust to put a skunk down on the first shot without him spraying.
Last summer, I shot one at about 60 yards, head shot, instant dead skunk.
