I know this is an old thread, and I'm usually not a necromancer, but since it was on the first page I figured a comment was fair game :)

Love the thread linked to at the beginning! So many times those types of threads go off the rails and end in a mess, but most of that thread is all win. Threads (and people) like that are what really make or break a forum, I think. They say a lot about how members deal with knowledge, conflict and reality. Without going into the details, I recently walked away from a forum due to a similar situation. I was someone with real world experience and made the mistake of trying to explain why and how the tacticool youtube training video they were fawning over was plain wrong and would get someone killed. Of course I was wrong, because years of professional experience don't measure up to a guy wearing a free Glock shirt on Youtube. I mean, I don't have a Glock shirt, so obviously I don't know what I'm talking about lol

We go back and forth sometimes... opening old threads for reference... sometimes someone just doesn't realize is was an old thread when scanning the pages.
S'OK either way! We are pretty relaxed around here. Ya won't find any over bearing egos or buttheads here! We just kinda go a day at a time.

If the mentally deficient are not allowed to own guns then why should they be allowed to make gun laws?

I know, that's why I joined! I lurked and read quite a bit before joining. Gun forums are interesting places sometimes. I've learned I'd rather have a slow, polite forum with people willing to share knowledge and gain knowledge (because that's why I'm here too!) than a highly trafficked one where you have 10 range heroes telling everyone that isn't doing it the way they are that they're wrong.

I'm always happy to be corrected and told why I'm wrong (how else do we learn?), but if that explanation is that I'm wrong because I haven't spent enough money or because Cpl. Jo-Jack of the Unlimited Tactifun Training School (TM) says so, well, then... lol.

I have know idea what I'm talking about most of the time, so when I correct someone it usually prefaced with the words "I don't know what I'm talking about but...". Lol
Walt is extremely good at stating facts without being scolding or pretentious. I never feel insulted.
EX is wiser than his years. He's a wealth of knowledge.
Cornhusker has more homespun wisdom in his little finger than most guys will know in a lifetime.
Tolly is a humble Craftsman. The descriptions of his shop are old-school from a time when handmade meant quality.
BarnOwl is an artist. His craft melds guns with video, humor and philosophy.
Jason has the patients of a saint with idiots like me. He knows gun and people. I value his input...and his commentary.
Randy...wow...you don't have to ask him what he thinks. He usually says it like it is...with both barrels loaded for bear. It's part of his charm.
There's a lot of others, most of them funny guys just sharing what they know, and not putting you down for what you don't. This might be the coolest corner on the interweb. Pull up a chair and get to crackin' wise.

Somehow I'm not sure if that's a compliment ....or something else. :? :hmmm: :groan:

Regardless, I have always said that if I can't take what I dish out then I need to go hibernate for a LONNNNNNGGGGG time.... :run: :go: :drunk: :ewink:

Thanks George, I appreciate the compliment.

Everyone here contributes their wisdom. We have some reloading gurus here as well.
