I was looking at this. Only about 80 for scope, red dot, retical combo. Prob not ultra hi quality but doesn't make a lot of sense to spend big money on an affordable gun!Image

Ive got the red dot "thingy" on my AR. It's nice, but my 995 is my post apocalyptic (no batteries available) carbine. I kind of feel a red dot on my classic "Ape gun" would be like wearing a tuxedo to go bowling. Maybe when I get one of those fancy tactical stock Hi Points, it'll be more appropriate.

Or yes....In case I didn't mention it before 007, welcome to my favorite forum on the internet. The more I post, the more I learn.

If you had a mount like this, you can use both red dot and irons.

Pretty nice. I wonder if the mount would hold my free Harbor freight flashlight.

FREE HARBOR FREIGHT FLASHLIGHT!??? Funny you mentioned that...I got a emailed receipt from a new HB store that opened sorta close to me. It had $1.99 flashlight listed and then $1.99 deduction. FREE! Trouble is I have never been to the store and there was nothing else received with the receipt in the email. :dunno: Just what looked like a photocopy of the store receipt. :thinkin: Strange I thought it was...worried it was a phishing scam or sumptin.

Randy, I have a couple of friends that have 8 or 10 of those lights for free, and they are decent little lights!

I've seen a few setups with scope in front of factory sites. I would definitely like option to just chuck the scope and have irons.

Hmmmm....

I'm getting ready to put a scope on my 4595. (I love saying/writing that "my 4595"... :great: )

And looking at the pictures Husker posted make a lot more sense to me now, since I was not familiar with the Hi-Point Carbines before.

And I do like the factory sights on my 4595... And was figuring on taking them off and mounting a scope.

But - I do have a pair of tall "see through" scope rings...
It just might be possible to have both the open sights and a scope, which would be nice!!

But if not - the open sights are coming off and the scope is going on.

I'll just have to go have a look and see if it'll work.

Thanks for the pictures Husker!! :great:
I'm glad I looked at them again. :yes2:

I bet if you knew someone who worked at a fancy machine shop with CNC capabilities, you could make a mount.
One thing about mounting a flashlight on the side like that is, it lights up the front sight and makes it really easy to shoot in the dark.

OK, I got this little enigma solved about the receipt for a free flashlight I was never in the store to get. It turns out a friend was there with a friend of his and they went through the line once to receive free stuff and being the rich asses they are they decided to go through the line again for more free stuff the same day. :groan: Well, my friend couldn't use his phone number again and didn't really expect me to show up there that day so he gave them MY number! So I asked him where my free flashlight was...He wouldn't give it to me...the rich get richer... :rules: :funny:
