Sounds like you need to loosen the two set screws on the bottom of the front sight and roatate it slightly in the direction needed. Then center your rear sight and readjust the sights.

Glad to hear you enjoyed shooting the carbine, they are really good weapons.

FYI, save all of your brass, reloaders and even some gun stores will buy it from you.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize that I could turn the front sight, just raise it or lower it.
It's so hard to save all our brass. There's so much. I mostly save what I can and our Makarov cases.

If its brass or nickle plated and boxer primed, its worth saving. Trust me, it adds up after a while. Hell, even the berdan primed brass cases can be sold to the scrapyard.

Took my 995ts to the range today. I had made adjustments to the front sight twice, turning it a hair each time. My rear sight is dead center and at 30 yards this is my grouping. I feel that those groups are pretty good. I realize I had a few flyers, but I contribute that to rapid fire on the last 2 magazines. Thanks for all your alls help.
One thing I ran across today that's never happened before is that the charging handle screw started coming loose and I could actually loosen it and tighten it by hand. I'll tighten it a little snugger. Too bad I can put Lok-Tite on it.

You can also use a dab of plumbers paste (pipe dope). Or teflon tape. About anything that's sticky and takes up any extra space in the threads should keep it from rattling loose. Even masking tape.

I'm leaning towards Teflon tape, mostly because I have some.
I realize I'd have to replace it after every use, but do you all think it would be better that the condom idea I have? :roflol:

Ok, after so much reading and question asking, I finally got to shoot some ammo I loaded with TiteGroup.
No issues or key holing. I've learned a lot from you guys. Both from your knowledge and your mistakes that was corrected.
These aren't the first rounds I've loaded, but by far the best.
My biggest issue with TiteGroup was the 4.0 gr. powder load. Man was I nervous about double loading the case or even being .1 gr. off.
Thank you everyone that has helped me.
The best part is, my dad was impressed. I've been keeping my reloading a secret from him until I was confident. He bitches a lot at these guys at the range that have all kinds of problems with their reloads. So, now I can finally tell him that a person that reloads are like a person that drives a car. As long as they pay attention, everything should be ok and not everyone should reload or even own a gun.

Good for you mech! Just make sure you dont double charge by accident and you will do fine.

I look in every case I load to make sure there is powder in it, and it looks like the rest of the loads as far as how much powder is in the case.

Thanks Walt. You're one of the people I am thanking. As far as loading my cases, I do it the long, drawn out way.
I set the powder measure until it throws out 4.0 gr., then I throw that charge into the Lee Scale pan and put it on the scale, I then recheck the first few with my digital scale. I then use the powder funnel and pour the powder into the case. I know, it's not even close to a faster, more productive load. But until I am totally confident in the whole system I'll continue to do it this way. I'm just that cautious. So far, the powder measure is dumping the right charge, so I might, one day, cut a few of the precautions. Until then, it's slow but safe for me.

You are doing it the smart way mech.... I personally believe that a lot of the kaboomed weapons we see on the net are the result of faulty reloading.

Regarding TiteGroup, I have found that it meters extremely well. The 4 or 500 9mms I built with it were VERY consistent through the powder hopper.

On the other hand, the 800-x that I'm using for my 10mm loads is like trying to meter friggan cornflakes. End up trickling and weighing EVERY load! PITA, but they sure have a nice burn!

MechWolf, I've been reloading for over 50 years, and I weigh each charge on a digital scale, just to be sure-- My eyesight is not good, and it's hard for me to notice discrepancies in the small handgun cases, so I have worked weighing each charge into my reloading routine. It doesn't add more than a few seconds to my routine, and I use the type of powder pan that has a small pouring spout on one side of it, and the latest ones even accomodate "Southpaws" like me, by having grasping tabs on both sides of them! They run aound $5., and are made of plastic. (Be careful about wiping them out with a cloth, as it can cause static slectricity, which can cause some powders to stick to the funnel/pan).
Some powders just don't meter well, i.e., Unique, and other shotgun/pistol flake powders, so a good alternative for them is my next subject:
Another thing that you might consider, is getting a combination, automatic powder dispenser/digital scale, which automatically drops the charge, and weighs it simultaneously, with an accuracy of + or minus one tenth of one grain. I bought two of the new ISD combo dispensors on sale, at about $160. each, but have seen them for even less. If you are doing a large batch of rounds, with the same load, they are the "cat's meow", and another good feature of these is as soon as you return the empty pan to the scale, it starts to load the next charge automatically, without having to press any buttons! I find it hard to keep up with the measure, it's that fast! It also has a load memory storage capcity of 50 loads, if my memory serves.
These are available from Natchez Shooter's supplies, suggest waitng until they have a sale on them.
I will tell you up front, that the instruction manual that comes with them SUCKS, and it took me a while to figure out how to program it, (my PACT Scale/Measure is much easier to learn, but lacks a lot of the ISD features). But once you have the drill down, they work like a charm, (even with powder the size of corn flakes)! They also have a website, which has You-Tube tutorials, to try to compensate for their crappy manuals.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Fred (Honcho)
