We will miss you Jerry Roberts - (woodyubet), you will not be forgotten.

We are better off from having known you Dean Stephens -(ampersand) It wont be the same around here without you.

I would still send in the mag(s) you got with the Pistol, just to make sure they can replicate the problem.

Good idea, and make sure to list on your note that you sent in x number of mags...

They sent my pistol back years ago with just the complementary mag and I had to call them and ask that they send me my other 4 mags that I had sent in with the weapon, which they promptly did.

ALWAYS ask the sender to write your name on the outside of the package when sending anything to an FFL for you. Some dealers get a bunch of packages at a time and if your name is on the outside it's easy to pick yours out.

Double and triple check to leave at least a note inside with address and phone number.

I hear ya....... But I'm not used to buying guns second hand from private party's. So I just forgot all about making sure it had my name on it. :dunno:

Well I just got my TX Hunting License, tags, and the hunters ed. Ferral hogs anyone? I think a hotter 40 S@W could definitely take out a medium sized hog if the shot was aimed at the heart. What other animals would 40 S&W be good for?

I suppose it would depend on the hog. A true wild boar will have a thick gristle plate that protects the vitals. I've heard that this will sometimes stop a .223. A domestic hog gone feral will have barely any protection and I've seen them ventillated with a .22LR. My understanding is that the wild hogs you'll find could be either of these, or a cross anywhere in between. I think I would err on the side of more gun instead of taking a chance of an unrecoverable wounded animal. :opinion:

At close ranges I would feel confident taking a smallish deer. Shot placement is everything when using a pistol round to hunt wild game IMO

I do have a little experience with boar hunting. My ex-step dad used to hunt these in Sc., he used dogs to get them and cut the boar's throat. He found out that even a 9mm would ricochet off of the boar's head. I was pretty young then but I remember this brave SOB running in and cutting throats.

On a different note. I was at the range a couple weeks ago and there were 2 guys that were sighting in their rifles to go on a feral hog hunt that I guess is a problem in Texas and Arizona. These guys were using .30-06s and SKSs for a close up shot. I guess they are rampant down there.
I hear that we are getting them here too. Good news for me, bad news for the hogs.
I likes me some bacon. Lol.
