I finally got back out to the range today with the C-9 and my Dad's old H & R 22. As always the HP ate everything I fed it. As for the 22 well it was less than cooperative. I think it has a bent firing pin or its just wore slam out. Anyway I put the peep site on it and my aim has improved greatly. I was shooting in 2" groups at about 15 yards. The shop I bought my HP at has a makeshift outdoor range that customers can use on slow days. All they ask is that you buy a target or 2 and a box of ammo. :D
As soon as I can I'll post some pics.

When was the last time that .22 was cleaned? Its been my experience that a lot of .22s just get really dirty and start malfunctioning because people just dont think about cleaning them.

Sounds like you had a pretty good day other than that. :)

Walt is right as usual. I took my Marlin out about a month ago and it was shooting fine but I saw about 20 .22LR rounds laying on the ground. Some were dirty and had jagged bullet tips, but none had any firing pin strike. So I wiped most of the dirt off and started shooting them. Some of them didn't eject right and had bad grouping. I came home and really cleaned my rifle.
I suppose the cheapness in me over rode my common sense.

It sat for about 30 years in Dad's gun cabinet. My brother has a shadetree gunsmith as a friend and he supposedly did a complete tear down and cleaning on it. When Dad took it down he noticed that the firing pin was bent and the spring in the handle(Sorry I don't know technical terms) looked like it was cut. I told Dad that I would look into having it fixed as long as it doesnt cost an arm and a leg.
