Post subject:  How To Embed A YouTube Video...

There has been some confusion and frustration over how YouTube videos should be embedded. Here is the not-so definitive answer. This has worked for me every single time I have tried it. However, it doesn't work for all the iterations of YouTube urls...unfortunately.

Use the url at the top of your browser, in the address bar. Place it between the YouTube tags (YouTube)(/YouTube), just replace the () with []. If the url starts with https:// then remove the "s". The url also cannot have "_popup" between "watch" and "?v=".

I will embed a few.

Here's how they look with the [] replaced with ().
(YouTube)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZZf619DIpo(/YouTube)
(YouTube)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsQzw_Ax8Cw(/YouTube)
(YouTube)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydWhRObVxrM(/YouTube)
(YouTube)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCj1KofDXAA&feature=BFa&list=TLM2Mkg8CGZHI&index=14(/YouTube)

Now the real ones.

Feel free to use this thread to test it out for yourself.

Well, that didn't work -- it's the url from the address bar ...

Any other ideas?

This is the url that comes up in the box when you click on 'share':

That one didn't work either.

There must be different YouTube urls that don't all mesh with our software, I can't get that one to work either. That's the only thing I can think of.

ETA: I think I might have it...Give me a minute.

It's their secure server. Your url has https://, all of mine are http://. I just tried your link minus the 's' and it embedded.

It also has to have something to do with the urls that have '_popup' between 'watch' and '?v='.

Okay, let's try it again:

I don't see 'https' or 'popup'

Amp, How are you finding so many different types of YouTube urls? Just when I think I have it, you come along with another type of url.

LMAO!!!

I'm stumped. I'll see if I can get with Rob and see if there's a plugin we can use or something.

BTW, I reworded the OP.

Broom I think I can speak for everybody here that we appreciate your trying to fix this, the net is a big place and its very hard for it to all mesh together and work properly all of the time.

Especially with a small forum like us that does good to keep the doors open on any given day ;)
