I have a GI version of the RIA 1911, and am quite content with it. Now, I want all the goodies, and the next logical step is either the Tactical RIA 1911, or building one up from one of those kits.

As it is, my 1911 is my daily carry piece, but would like some better sights, and that hammer and grip safety. I "Could" modify mine, but really hesitate on that. It shoots great, for what it is, and why try to modify it, when you may not be able to return it to "stock" condition? Thus, new pistol time...

thadius....I have about 8 differnt holsters for my 1911 since it was my main carry gun for a long time.
I have all differnt types from leather to cloth to Kydex, and none of them were ever "comfortable" to wear all day long every day. :-?
The problem IMO is that it's a big old 1911 and it's goona cause you some hassles no matter how you carry it. :-?

What he said.^^^
I currently use mainly a Fobus paddle. I like it for I can take it on and off easily, vs the Desantis IWB that I have. Problem is, even with a tshirt draped over it: you can still see I have it on me. With the Desantis, its virtually invisible, but a pain to wear all day long.
I am looking for a leather, IWB with a single clip attatchment to try out.
