So where do we post 'em?

I shot 8 rds on the first target. The others were all 10 shots. 20 feet, C9-COMP, slow fire, that remanufactured HSM ammo, free hand, 50 degrees and wishing I had my other glasses...

Notice, this Bullseye was the VERY FIRST SHOT on this target! I got so excited, the rest of the group went to heck :(

hedging my bet... :D
Actually, I liked the ammo, shot fine, had a good thump to it, like it's a little hot, plus it's 124 grain. Though it was some of the $13/box stuff that I only bought 'cause it was there...they have different colored cases, I took a pic, some are gold colored brass, and some silver, like they polished the crap out of it...and some of the actual bullets had some dents and weren't as smooth as I would like. No effect at this range (dang, there went my excuse  ), but if I were shooting 100 meters, I'd be loading some other ammo... :D

Are the silver ones actually brass or something else?

I don't know how to tell.... But they aren't steel, I don't think. They say Speer 9mm Luger on the base; the brass colored ones say FC NT 9mm Luger. I might have to look that up somewhere.

So I did, and it looks like they do nickel cases!
Which further research tells me is harder and more brittle, which can be hard on your reloading gear and gun, and also limits the reloads possible in that case, but cleans easily and won't tarnish like brass can.

Some speer is nickel plated brass. That would give it the silver color.

I was all ready to compete yesterday at the range. I warmed my 995 up with a mag and then stapled up a target to use for the contest. But then my stupid red dot took a crap on me!?!?!?
It would work for a shot or two and then stop working for another mag or two!?!? :-(
So who knows how well or bad I could've done I guess? :-(

Good shooting to you though ajole. ;-)

That's why I always liked iron sights. :D Electronics always die at the worst time...
I know you like the iron too. Maybe you need to get into one of those mounts that keep the iron sights available? I keep meaning to do it myself, just never get around to it...

Well I've been avoiding the iron sights on the 995 because I really like how clean the barrel shroud and shork look up front.
But I've been fighting the scopes and red dots on this thing for awhile now, so I think I'll just bite the bullet and cut down the shroud a bit so I can fit the front sight back on and call it good.
Like you said, I've always been a fan of open sights anyhow so screw it! ;-)

Mount a Bushman full rail and have the rear iron co-witness with the red dot.

Battery failure just flip up front iron and have at it.

Sounds good in theory and since my Magpul back ups are scheduled to arrive Thursday...

I'll have to zero them in and give it a try.

I've thought about co-witnessing some sights shadow.....But to be honest I'm at a point where I'm tired of messing around with something other than iron sights.
If it were more of a long distance type of gun then I might keep messing with it. But since it's really a 100 yard and in gun I'll just switch back to irons and save myself the aggrevation. ;-)
