I took my grips off and they are fine, I did see one on gunbroker that mentioned the cracks on the grips, I wonder if that is something that happens to them a lot.

I will see when the two I have ordered show up.

??? Two grips or complete guns? :?

Mine weren't visibly cracked when I bought it last year. And I prolly have fewer than 500 rounds through it. :dunno: They appear to be cheap hard plastic. I hate the idea of changing these old boys from original but in order to preserve these grips I may have to. :( Finding aftermarket might be as easy as finding hens teeth. :dunno:

I checked three or four sites for grips last night and nada. Buymilsurp is out, and the custom builders don't dabble in the oddballs it seems. :dunno:

Randy, give Vintage Gun Grips a try. If they don't already make the grips you need and you have a set of originals, they'll sometimes make you a free set for letting them borrow your originals to make a mold from. I got a set for my Dreyse 1907 from them and, though not perfect, I was able to make them work.

Walt, that's too bad, time to get some Lee dies eh?

Thanks for the link codger! Pretty cool grips they have. Wouldn't a set of bright red grip really set off a C9?  :funny:

Mo, I'd like to, but money will be tight for the foreseeable future. I super glued the ones I have.

Randy I load for 9mm but that doesnt help me any in the store as I cant sell my reloads

I got the pistols in today, now have 1 PHP MV17 and 2 PHP MV9 pistols, all in excellent condition. I pulled the grips and out of 6 grips, 5 are cracked. Must be a flaw with the design. Im gonna super glue mine too.

BUT I picked the nicest of the two Walther P1s and brought it into the house, its a darn fine looking weapon. No cracked grips on that pistol.

Really interested in knowing how much different that MV17 fires. That's the one I initially wanted but by the time I got my money they were all sold out. You are lucky to get one I think. But I like mine, It's not too big and is fairly well balanced to my uneducated hands. I believe the frames are the same and only the barrels are different although I may be wrong on that. The parts breakdown shows everything as the same. :dunno: What price will you be asking for it?

Randy I checked and the barrels will interchange.... I suppose the MV17 would be a little bit more accurate with the extra inch of barrel, but other than that they probably fire the same.

Sorry but the MV17 is not for sale, I bought it from a customer and paid retail for it, its mine.
