Bought a 1953 Hungarian M44 barreled receiver then went shopping for parts. Had a stock, trigger and a couple other small parts. Here's the end results, thanks to SARCO, Numrich and Omega Weapons Systems, although the parts from Omega were freaking NASTY, a night spent in a container of Simple Green, set on top of a vibrating dehumidifier in the basement totally stripped them to white!

We are better off from having known you Dean Stephens -(ampersand) It wont be the same around here without you.

Nice wish I had the patience to do stuff like that.

Waltham, no, haven't managed it yet, just threw it together last night, hoping for next weekend. Spent today working on another project, a .44 Navy reproduction black powder revolver that I snagged for $50 with a missing barrel wedge and broken hand spring. Took a tad bit too much off the new hand so have to MIG a bit back onto it and start again, might just put a new spring (bobby pin) into the old one. I bead blasted all the steel parts on it and reblued them and polished up the brass, looks real good.

Verkalak, a Mosin is about the easiest firearm to "build" like this that I've ever seen. Headspace is the only thing to worry about with a barreled receiver and I have yet to have one that didn't pass.

I have a total of $205.05 in this one, and the 37 Tula 91/30 that I did before it was only $115. Supposed to be getting a line on some more barreled receivers but we'll see if that pans out or it's just another one of them "I know this guy..." stories.
