Left one is a 1944 Mauser P.38 Bring back, no import marks Right one is a 1958 P.38 with import mark. Both pistols are all matching numbers and mags, and both are right at 95% condition. I was very lucky to find them.

Thank you Tmwzz :) Ex the 1958 I picked up from Southern Ohio Guns. They are selling the post war P1s and P38s as a whatever they grab you get and so far out of 8 I have bought I have got two P38s. The SOG guns are very nice for the money.

BTW, the guy I got the wartime P.38 from inherited it from his grandfather.... he said his grandfather told him that he traded a horse and a car to a guy for the pistol back in the '40s.. I have to suppose the guy that traded it brought it back or got it from someone who did

Don't know if you've shot a G29... I have both and prefer the 29. I shoot better with it too. Not sure why... shorter barrel...

Did buy Glock factory adjustable rear for the 29 ~$28. 20 goes to POA but I just hit better with the 29. Perhaps because the
shorter barrel has a tad less recoil???

Nice pickup on the wartime P38. The postwar is okay too.

You're doing some good trading these days.

Good for you, Waltham!

The p38 isn't as sexy as a Luger, but it is a better gun, mechanically.

Did you get holsters? Those buggers can run over a hundred bucks too.

Thanks ETKD !

Ex I will probably go back with a G20, I just prefer the full sized Glocks for some reason.

Amp I think I am finally starting to get the hang of the selling / trading guns gig ;)

Al, no holsters, I have found a place that sells the post war leather holsters for 30 bucks, will probably pick up a couple of them.

Wouldn't the '58 be made in Ulm? IIRC, all the post war German made guns were?

And apparently I can't read. Not sure how I missed the bringback being a 1944 Mauser. Derp.

I always thought the P 38 was custom made just for my hand. It just always felt great. Unfortunately I have never owned one. Those are both really nice.
