Here's my "fugly" one of the two I bought from Royal Tiger. Stock had three cracks, several deep divots in the side from another bolt carrier handle, four knots, no finish and the action fit to loosely in it that you could rock it up and down like a teeter-totter.

Picked this up on another forum, seller said it was 'brand new, had never been on a rifle". Well, he wasn't kidding. Had none of the screw holes drilled for the sling swivel or butt plate, the forearm was unfinished and about 1/4" too long, the wood where the trigger group sits up against was too high for it to latch down. I'm thinking though that it might have been a reject though, as the holes for the recoil lug were too high and I had to take close to 1/8" off the top of the lug to get the action to sit down in right. Haven't shot it yet, we're in the middle of a pretty good snow storm. Here it is in the new stock.

Cool way to save an SKS. That looks a lot better than if you had repaired the old stock.

Very nice SKS :great:
I hate to admit it, but my SKSs are probably my favorite all around rifles.

I've got my two now, unless I run across a heck of a deal on another one I'm happy with what I have. Working on getting two of everything I have now, lol

Those SKS's are long gone...sold and the funds turned into parts to build AR's, lol... only have my lowly WASR 10/63 in that caliber now!

I have a WASR 10-63 underfolder...it's a lot better rifle than some of the AK snobs say they are.
Also have a GP-75 and a couple Chinese SKSs
I really like that 7.62x39 round

I like that it is CHEAP, readily available and fills a BIG HOLE Between my 270W and my 5.56 shooters :D

Mine had a side-folding Tapco stock on it when I got it, didn't care for it so swapped an adjustable one onto it, much better. It loved the cheap Monarch ammo from Academy, hates the Tulammo from Walmart
