I wonder why you can get cheap semi auto PPS 43's all day long but not cheap semi auto MP40's? I would buy one in a heart beat if they were available and affordable.

I could buy a couple hundred JHP 45's for that!!

I think I'd rather pay my house off with that money...

Insane price.I had a sten gun that cost 500 bucks and that included Federal tax stamp. And a real nice Reising sub gun from Harrisburg, P.a. Police Depart. which cost about the same with tax stamp and dealer fee.Got Both within a month and a half including Md.State Police check. Us old guys were very fortunate to be in gun culture back in seventies and eighties when the "living was easy".

Sten guns and Reising, are now over Five grand. I could gave bought bought a Vickers heavy machine gun from Dealer Charlie Erb on P.a. for 1200 bucks but just didn't want to spend the money and it was just to bulky and heavy. Wonder what a Vickers goes for today? Ha

Ivan depending on condition and accessories, I would be willing to bet a vikers will run you 20K plus easily. The gents back in your day that had the foresight to buy those barrels of 25 dollar Garands and put them morgan dollars and 20 dollar gold pieces away for a rainy day are doing better than putting that same money in any bank account would ever do you. Some stocks might have outperformed, but you took a chance of being an Enron investor while the coins and guns were a sure thing.

You hit the nail on the head with comment about garand barrels and gold. I mentioned Charlie Erb had that Vickers for sale. Well , he was a Class 2 dealer and they coukd convert semi auto rifles to full auto legally. Which made Price of auto weapons cheap even after 200 tax stamp and fee to class 2 dealer to do conversion. But then Reagan was suckered into Stopping conversions of semi guns into full auto weapons. Thus the price of fullbauto weapons started to go up and up And up.
Now Charlie had a bunch of MP 40 receivers and was grandfathered in and with parts kits could Still
make fully auto MP 40 sub guns! And Im sure back in late eighties they werent no 25 thousand bucks. What insanity.
Charlie had his shop on Mongagella River south of Pittsburgh and would hsve machine gun shoots a couple times a year. What fun driving your 4 wheel vehicle through high water to his place to shoot !
He even had KDKA TV station there once.
Machine gun shoots all over .Knob Creek in Kentucky was awesome back in the eighties and early nineties when I used to go.
Young guys now missed out in the fun.
