I've been toying around with the idea of adding a muzzle brake to my TS. I was looking for something other than the usual compensator that HP and brass stacker offers and I happened acorss these articles.

10/22 Muzzle brake mod

They sell a long one and a short one. I think I prefer the short one. It holds on with one set screw and it is notched for the 10/22 front sight It won't fit around the HP sight base w/o some serious opening up. I am a little leery of this though and have decided to pass on it. The price is right to experiment though and can get them cheap on E-whore. Nevertheless cool idea.

So the second thought is because I can never do things easily I'm thinking maybe threading the muzzle and putting on an AR-10 or threaded AK brake. I found some links on this too for your viewing pleasure.

If any of you have experience threading a HP carbine I'd love to hear it. It looks like Thread Size: 1/2 x 28 is the popular size but never having done any machining and no AR's I really don't know. I like the Masterpiece Arms style they are offering that way if the brake doesn't line up proper like you would want on a birdcage style, you don't have to worry about it.

This was a pretty good video. Not pro but I found it informative. Yes I know it's not the diameter I would need for a .30 cal.
