I agree with the consensus here that the 380 carbine is an expensive underpowered plinker. I have a 4095 and think it would be a simple conversion to 10 mm. But I would really like to see a 10 mm magnum.

The 4095 and 4595 are esentially the same gun, frame and chamber. It would require additional engineering to the receiver to ensure it would be capable of handling the additional power of the 10 mm magnum, but it would be a much better rifle. Is anyone listening at Hi-Point?

Just my 2 cents.

Ed

they are probably not listening. I'd be happy just for the standard 10mm!

.380 doesn't have quite enough punch as it is. 10mm offering makes more sense as an expansion to the line.

True dat my brother, the .380 round is for belly guns!! This a blowback the ammo is going to have to have some pop or it will have FTF issues!!! I have a KelTec A3at and it will run pretty soft ammo but not my friends Walther, it simply doesn't have enough energy to throw the slide an that is only a pistol!! Hope it does well have my doubts!

I think it was because they wanted a carbine model for each pistol they sell, they are always advertising the magazine interchangability between the magazines and the pistols. I guess it makes sense if your own the .380 to get the same caliber carbine, but 9mm is so much better, and less expensive. I dont know anyone who would actually buy it.

Or a .45 super. What about a 7.62 x 25 tok or a .38 super carbine? .357 anyone?

I have long had interest in a .357 Mag carbine. The round has so much potential, especially with today's powders.

I have long had a fascination with pistol-caliber carbines and have a Rossi in .357. It's a lot of fun to shoot - enough power for deer at close range but not much recoil; more fun than a .22! Marlins are easy to find but sellers generally hold Winchesters (and Brownings) very dear.

Here is my thoughts.. you could take a 995 carbine barrel, bore the chamber out to a .357 sig, and put the barrel in a 4095 carbine using 4095 mags. Should work just fine. I would think the 40 cal recoil spring would work too...

Thoughts???

I've thought about that too; I think it might work. I wonder if the R&D guys at HP have done such things?

I think 10mm is more realistic than a .357sig. I put the .357sig on about the same field as a .460 Rowland.

I would like to see one in .22lr. .357 magnum would be almost perfect for a nice hunting carbine.

Nobody's posted to this topic for some time but ....I read in more than one location that this carbines intended market was for countries south of the border where possession of military caliber firearms are prohibited. And everybody knows, if you read it on the internet it must be true. I want one because this gun seems to have drirfted to the top of the snob/hater list. I started reading some of the comments and thought "great, now I gotta buy one of those". Mabey after I get a Jimenez 22.

I've heard that too but kind of doubt it. The 3895TS carbines are now as common as dandelions after rain on LGS racks in my area.

The CF380 is easily identified from the C9 by the silver stripe on the slide. Anybody notice any distinguishing characteristics on the 380 carbine?
