Has anybody had success converting the 4095 to 10mm? Saw an article about a guy on youtube. But it wasn't feeding well? :owned:

If it is feeding at all it can be made to run... just a matter of finding out what the problem is.

My concern would be ultimate strength. They made the .380 because they were already designed and tooled.

Though it's easy enough to use a chamber reamer. I just looked up pressures on .40 and 10mm and they are
essentially the same. Didn't find the SAMMI spec but looked at several makers powder recipes and the 10mm was running
as high as 33,800 psi with the .40 close at 33,500 psi. Very close and these were listed recipes so the lawyers keep them
safe. My guess is both are built for 40Kish.

If the mentally deficient are not allowed to own guns then why should they be allowed to make gun laws?

I've been thinking about that for quite a while...

All we need is a sense of adventure, a Cordless DeWalt drill and a chamber reamer, and we'd be in business, wouldn't we??

If it did work - it's probably bust the slide eventually??

I have owned both 10mm an .40 and I can assure you that the 10mm is not just a long .40. The jump is as drastic and that between 38spl and .357mag.

The 10mm is a handful even in a locked breech forearm.

HP does not chamber for it due to the same problems that keep them from chambering the .30 carbine. Too much pressure and a lock up system that does not allow the bullet to leave the barrel before the bolt opens. And it can not be cured with just a heavier slide or spring.

Though there are numerous cases where folks have reamed their HP .40s and made 10mms. Many are shown on YouTube (the universal source for safe firearms mods--lol). They seem to have gotten it to work "most of the time".

If you look at factory 10mm ammo, most of it is just barely stiffer than decent .40 ammo. Now compare that to the original 10mm spec and there is is quite a difference. Factory (IE American Eagle limp 10mm) ammo would probably be fine and not cause undo stress to the chamber/barrel. But that defeats the whole point of 10mm. May as well just leave it at .40. If you want to utilize the full potential of 10mm... well, let's just say maybe that's why HP hasn't moved on the simple conversion to 10mm. Just a guess.

We can add a big block Chevy valve spring and then
weld, solder, bronze or bolt some more weight to the slide...

That'll tame that recoil from those "Full-Power" 10mm loads!!

Ex - you can go first... :wow:

Good answers! I still say the.380 is pointless! You can shoot 9mm cheaper than.380! At least that was my experience a few years back! Given what ex said about the pressures I'm more convinced! Unless they are concerned about whee the market would take them to terrorist organizations or whatever?

Are they still dealing with law suits?
