Zeroed my 4595 at 30 yds. with the stock sights.
Installed a TruGlow Red Dot on the rail in front of my sights and have a lower 1/3co-wittness with the stock sights.
Zeroed the R.D. at the same distance.

Then used the stock sights with the R.D. in place and turned on. POI was about 3 in. right and about 2 in. low.
Turned the R.D. off and tried the sights and POI stayed the same as with it turned on.

Removed the R.D and the stock sights shot to the same POI as before I installed the R.D.
I wonder why the POI changed when looking through the R.D.

Some sort of prism effect with the glass? Honestly don't know, I'm interested in hearing what it turns out to be.

I think all it would take is a lens being misaligned. Try another one and see what happens.

Thats the same thing I was thinking Walt - I am curious what is happening here too - but Tollys suggestion could be it.
I thought Mo might be the man with the answer here.
He seems to have a lot of experience with this sort of thing!!

Well kengrant - I don't know if we've been much help so far...

Put the same Red Dot on an AR15 mounted forward and had the same thing happen with it.
I no longer use this sight on anything now except guns with no iron sights that co-witness with it.

I have couple of reflex Red Dots that work well with the iron sights
