I was just watching some youtube videos about the Hi-Point carbines - the 4595 specifically - except for one on the 995.

A feller was waving a page that came with the paperwork his 995 had and it had a big square in the middle...
It said in capital letters "Use of Pro-mag magazines will void the lifetime warranty"

Now I have a bunch of factory Hi-Point Mags on-the-way along with a 14 round Pro-Mag (Thanks Kenneth!!!) and now
I'm not so sure I should use that Pro-Mag if it actually voids the warranty...

1st - I wonder how they would ever know??

2nd - Since Hi-Point apparently endorses that other weird looking mag - I wonder if Hi-Point is just trying to squeeze Pro-Mag out of the loop...

And like I said - that guy had a 995 - Don't know if it's the same with a 4595 - I would imagine so!!

Sorry if someone brought this up before I did - And I should research it more myself!!!
But I'm just headed out the door for work and one of you fellers might have the answer already... :D

I'll be back!!

I wouldn't be surprised
I was thinking the ATI stock would void the warranty too?
I'm guessing they don't want to pay for the sins of other manufacturers.

I am trying to figure out what in he!! a magazine has to do with the lifetime serviceability of a firearm other than it feeds ammo correctly or it does not feed ammo correctly.

There is not much a magazine can do to damage a HiPoint to the need for repair of the firearm.

I can understand a situation where the company does not take responsibility for proper functioning of another manufacturers products, but I can not see the insertion of a Promag into the mag well of a HiPoint voiding the warranty.

If that is the case then the standard tricks we do to make factory mags worth having should void the warranty also.

Anyway, should the need to return one of mine ever arise it goes back to the factory with no magazine at all just to see of HP will send me a new replacement.

I got my new 4595 for Christmas yesterday, and it had this note in it:

Apparently it is specific to the 995 only...
Don't know why - Hi-Point must have their reasons - Including their own hi-capacity 9mm mag they're selling!!

Who knows - maybe one of you other smarter-than-me guys might know why the Promag is a no-no for the 995??

It is the angle that the Pro Mag feeds the round into the ramp from what I've been able to find. Not a big fan of Pro Mag anyways although I do have a couple that came with the WASR, haven't run them enough to see if they are problem children or not as I generally use the Tapco 10 round mags on the bench or the steel Romanian 30 round mags if I feel like blasting.

I use to think it was a duty cycle thing. Hi Point might not want you cycling 20 rounds non stop. With the newer long stick magazine, it kind of blew that theory out of the water...or did it. 20 rounds produces a lot of heat. It might not be the Pro mag magazine that can damage the gun. It might be the heat.
The melting point of Zamak is 725° ....steel is over 2000°. I noticed the increased capacity magazines are now only for the carbines.
