I won't ship anything by Fedex. Everything that I've ever received damaged was delivering by them. A generator that had the top of the gas tank caved in and the air filter box shattered (it was surrounded by fitted styrofoam and a heavy cardboard box) and my horizontal bandsaw had the motor plate bent, two cooling fins broken off the motor and the blade tension knob shattered into about seven pieces. They had cut open a couple of other cardboard boxes, laid them around the busted-to-hell original box then wrapped it in about a half mile of plastic wrap. In both cases they dropped the delivery at the driveway and jumped back in the truck and left before I was even outside.

The Fedex guy here in the boonies gives me the willies, I half expect to get a new driver one day and find out the old one was busted for child porn or keeping women chained up in storage vans on his property...and my dog doesn't like him at all either, and I trust his judgement.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with a dislike of FedEx
I hope they find your rifle and someone gets fired

Call in the ATF yet?

I'd be calling every number I could find for the upper hierarchy of Fedex every day and bugging the crap out of them so bad that they'd go BUY me a new rifle just to get rid of my ass...

No kidding!!! They lost a weapon in shipment...delivered to wrong address. Now, they have two liabilities. It would sure seem like they'd have a vested interest in recovering or sending sheriffs or something...
ATF would seem to be the agency most interested, but we do still have current administration policies so no telling.

Not to speak of every dockman, operator, manager, exec etc at FedEx you talk to being written down. name and time/date.

Pursue it full boat. You bought legally, they lost illegally...

After many calls to Fed-X customer service , many posts on every forum I am on , I get nothing.
After posting on Facebook pages and then on Fed-X's page when I told what had happened , I still had a lot C.S. replies.

Finally , after posting the local news media wanted to interview me about my stolen gun and the issues with Fed-X.
Someone in management contacted me tonight.

Fed-x contacted you and said they found it? Said they're looking into it? Said they're going to reimburse you? You need to cover your backside every way conceivable. That gun is registered to you and if it's used in a crime... My sister in law had a car stolen and then used in a bank robbery. They treated her like the perpetrator until the car was found. And that was just a car.

Assured me security was looking into the issue.

Local L.E. , BATFE , Hi-Point are all in the loop about the stolen 4595 by my efforts and not by any efforts by Fed-X.

Very sad it takes that much to get SpreadEx interested in taking care of an issue like this. I am no lawyer (thank God) but I'd bet if a BG got a hold of that carbine and shot someone with it, FedEx would bear a HUGE burden of financial responsibility.

Almost 14 days since Fed-X lost/stole my firearm and nothing yet from them.

Local L.E. called yesterday and told me Fed-X had not contacted them although Fed-X told me last week they would contact my local L.E.

After dealing with many different Fed-X people , I did find out one thing.

That is the problem with all of the big corporations... they have too many chiefs and not enough Indians. The USPS lost a very hard to replace part I ordered for a WW2 Italian Carcano rifle. Package arrived with a hole in it taped back shut by USPS. Their so called tracking didn't help a bit, they paid the insurance claim, but told me there was nothing they could do to help me find where the part got lost...... The 1-800 customer service person actually had the nerve to tell me to call every post office the package had went through and ask if someone had found the part lying on the processing floor.

I really really hate the USPS.

The problem seems to be that we are stuck with whichever company we deal with that has contracted their shipping with. I cannot say I will pass up a deal if the company only ships via fedex or whoever. We are at their mercy. Most of my small parts come in combination shipping. Shipped out via commercial shipping (UPS/FEDex, etc.) and switched to USPS for delivery. So far so good at any rate. My two packages this week seem to be on track for pickup or delivery early next week. Maybe it helps that I live in an area with a small overall population and no super huge population centers within a hundred miles- Des Moines being the only one and it's just over a hundred miles from me. :dunno:

Edited to make it somewhat coherent :stupid:

Well, I've shipped 1039 sight tools so far this year, all USPS. Some USPS First Class International to various countries. Shipped more than that last year, the year before, about the same the year before, etc. So far I have had ONE package that didn't make it to it's buyer, and I can blame that one on the buyer himself as he hadn't updated his Paypal shipping address, so it went to his previous address and I'm betting that whoever lived there at the time kept it. A second on I shipped was returned however with the notice that the addressee had moved and left no forwarding address. Customer got mad when I refused to ship a third time, couldn't seem to grasp that I had paid $10 in shipping already on his $20 tool. Told him that if he wanted to pay me the $10 that I had spent on shipping that I would be more than happy to send another. Never got a reply...
