We all know it was the driver that stole it. Otherwise the person who signed for it would have had to take the time to check the label and see what name he was supposed to sign for it, which would, to me, have made me double check the delivery info and ask for ID.

I think Mo is probably right... The driver knows who is supposed to sign for it!
Otherwise, they would have to look at the label.

Plus, the drivers should know what address it was supposed to go to and they know their routes.
It's not like they would get lost or are unable to find the address on their super-dooper Google Map-Quest satellite location finder devise things they have...

Be easy enough for the the LEOs to track down the driver... if they happened to get inclined...

The local news had an expose' on "Porch Pirates". It's the latest theft crazy in which the thief watches where the delivery truck stops, waits 5 minutes then followes behind collecting the packages. They had video caught on home security. There's so many of them , I'm surprised they're not tripping over each other. With the explosion of Internet sales, who didn't see this coming? If criminals are willing to smash your car window to steal an old GPS, stealing a package left at your front door isn't hard to imagine.

That reminds me of an article I read years ago - by Mike Royko I think...
Kind of a liberal guy, if I remember right, but had a sense of humor... An unusual combination!!

The garbage people (sorry - Sanitation Engineers...) were on strike in Chicago.

The crime rate was fairly high there (sound familiar??) and this is how he got rid of his trash...

He said he put his trash in a big box every week and put it in the backseat of an unlocked car.
The next morning, it would be gone!! Stolen by some hapless thief...

Now that's how you make the best out of a bad situationI!!
I guess every dark cloud has a silver lining...
