The ATI stock has, in fact, been named by HP as the one thing that would cause them to possibly void your warranty.

The HP Facebook page has more info on that.

Apparently, it has to do with the ATI being stronger/stiffer, and not absorbing recoil, so the metal receiver takes the hit more, causing faster wear.

In my little world, where $250 worth of fuel is only three or four tanks full in my truck, I consider the HP as almost a consumable commodity, meaning, if I want to use an ATI stock, I will do so, and IF the gun breaks in the course of two or three or more years of use, I will simply buy another; and not fret a bit about it.

But then, I do have a few extra guns in my possession. ;)

Well I may have found a ATI stock. I will know tomorrow, a guy I know knows someone who is wanting to sell one. The local pawn shop still has the classic 995, and will hold it until tomorrow. So if everything goes well I will try to put these together tomorrow. then I can make up my accessories list to put orders in. The receiver cover is badly pitted. I'm thinking I might sand it down and make it look shiny, or SS? I can put a coat od clear coat or something to keep it from pitting again.

If you e-mail one of us the pics, we can get them posted. If you have a free Photobucket or Picasa web album account, you can up-load and post your own.

You have to use a separate file sharing site to download pics. I don't know what other gun forums you belong to, but the 10 or more that I belong to, all need a separate file sharing site in order to share pics or video's. It has nothing to do with the desire of the owners of the forum to have it that way. It's simply how most forum programs are designed.

yup, I'M never here! UHmmm this forum is a relativley small forum and does not have 40,000 participants like some others do. The 'not being here' part is due primarily to the idea that this forum is somewhat more of a social site than a 'lets learn about guns' site. Sorry everyone here disappointed you. If you just want to chew the fat then by all means show up here, someone will be in the evening hours more than likely. The thought that we a desktop commandos like those on other forums doesn't hold water here however. We speak from experience, not just from google. However, with that said, much of what needs to learned CAN be found on google, but you pays your money (or not) and you takes you chances. As with anywhere in life, free advice is worth just that, no matter where it comes from....

Hi all, first post... in the middle of the 995TS ATI stock install... yes the TS.

I used a dremel to work down that first rib that I read about on here so that the barrel and receiver of the 995TS fits into the ATI stock.
I also picked up some 3/16" E-clips from Pepboys that fit the 995TS takendown bolts and seems as though they will be a nice direct replacement for the E-clips on the TS stock.

I managed to pick up a old-style 995 receiver shroud from Ebay (score), so I won't have to modify/ shave the top part of the ATI stock to make it fit.

Here is where I am going insane - hoping I can call/ count on all your experience/ knowledge...

I get everything put together and all the holes seemed lined up but I CAN NOT get both takedown bolts through the receiver/ stock to attach the E-clips - it's like I'm just a few mils off but can't get them both to poke through.
It seems like the shroud is a little short or something (?????????)

I read about and ordered some brass stackers receiver shroud (take-down) bolts and noticed that the instructions say to drill out the shroud & stock from 7/32" to 1/4" - AHA!!! Is this where I am going wrong?

Will drilling out the shroud holes to 1/4" give me what I need to make it fit?

I am sure I will try this in the morning - but wanted to ask any/ all that have been down this road before I start drilling (can't put the material back).

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks!
