The Jason needs to find some new suppliers.

I have worked in several shops and ran my own for years. There is a habit of ordering from one or two suppliers and forgetting there are others available if one only mails out a few copies of the FFL. It is an easy habit to fall into.

I worked for one guy that ordered from only one supplier due to the cheaper shipping rates. Crappy supply but cheap shipping on the limited supply available. It really sucks to have customers coming in all day asking for what they saw in the latest American Handgunner and having to tell them our supplier does not carry that.

I suppose I am now fortunate in having access to several large retailers with a wide variety of brands and models with back up inventory in stock.

Yes you do, or I'll keep telling everyone that you have monthlys! ;)
You say the Bersa "looks" like it's too big". I say humbug!

If you're lookin' for a Pers Def weapon to pocket carry, I wouldn't decide
on looks! I'd just make the trip to the store to hold all of them and then
decide.

Aside from just me, there's a pretty strong vote for the Bersa. Strong
enough to warrant checking it out. You may even have a neighbour that
has one?

Well - I do have a boner for that gold and black Bersa - It's a special - exclusive to one supplier - very difficult to even find one.
But - Husker PM'ed me a link to one for sale - $375 "buy it now" But that's a little more than I wanna spend.

The CC version - There's a couple I've been keeping my eye on on some auction sites just in case one goes really cheap - but it's the same deal...
If I buy from another dealer - it's gonna cost me!!

The test for that Remington - Did you guys watch that??
That thing looks dead nuts reliable.
It's basically a pistol that has a great rating - The Rohrbaugh R380 - with the Remington name on it.
It's similar to the 738 Taurus I had.
My supplier has a bunch - I don't have to get raped by another dealer to get one.

My main concern is:
It won't go off in my pocket and blow my pp off.
That I can get the damn thing out of my pocket in a hurry and pull the trigger and it will go "bang" - and "bang" 7 times in a row is better!!
It's small and light and easy to conceal.

And "how it feels in the hand" - That doesn't concern me too much.
The little Taurus was fairly comfortable and they had some real gorillas in that video shooting that RM380...
So I think I'll be fine with the little RM380 - If not - I'll sell it and get something else.
And as a carry gun - It won't be shot all that much anyway. I only put 8 rounds through that Taurus 738...

And that is why I listed the 3 pistols I did - it's a money thing - an investment more like.
The little RM380 is cheaper wholesale than a Bersa at the raping dealer price.
I can readily get my money back out of the Remington - and probably more.
The raping dealer price on a Bersa - most likely not.

I guess I should specify I'm talking about the spiffy black and gold model that I like.
Walt had a fair price on the black CC Bersa - no complaints there!! (-:

And sure I'd like to have a Bersa - You guys sure have a ton of good things to say about it!!
I'd like to have one - but it's not like my heart is set on it - It doesn't mean THAT much to me.
I can buy this little Remington and carry it a while and back order one of those spiffy Black and Gold Models.
When (or if...) one comes in, I can sell my little RM380 to fiance the Bersa.

That why I listed the three I did...
I wasn't figuring on this turning into a "You better buy a Bersa!! Or we're gonna kick the living sh*t out of you - you big Fatty!!" :doublegun2:

Actually I do have a supplier I like! But if I need something, I buy it from who has it.
But - right off the top of my head - I can think of about 13 suppliers I have... And there's more.
A bunch are wholesalers and several "direct to dealer" arms makers.
Some I've never used - once I see their dealer pricing and it's really high... )-:
And I have one or two that don't even sell guns - just hunting supplies, clothing, reloading stuff, etc.

And I checked all of them - that's it for 380's - there may be some Sigs or Colt Mustangs - but I ain't spending that kinda money...
I mean - guns must still be selling at a torrid pace. With my suppliers - many models are sold out everywhere...

Last comment, I promise! ;)

The trigger on the Bersa is nice. Has a long but smooth pull.
Long enough that it would take a deliberate movement to fire.
Not at all like some of the semi's where you just touch it and
it goes off. So, trigger is very nice, accuracy ... I was very
surprised and pleased with for a pocket pistol! I was amazed
that I liked it as much as my H&K!

That is the same thing I am running into, I have probably 10 suppliers that I am set up with, and all of them are out of many of the low end guns like Taurus, Sccy and the such. I think we have a billary panic run starting up or something :dunno:

I had my heart set on a Rossi 454 Casull stainless 20 inch lever action carbine... Nobody has them in stock, a FFL group I belong to was no help.... I ended up finally finding a blued model and settling for (GASP) retail price from another dealer on gunbroker. Had to put it on layaway, but at least I will have one.

Dunham's Sports has the little Remmy in their add this week for $349. I'm not sure if that's a good price. Their pretty good about rain checks, so long as you call them. I watch for their 2 day special pricing and pick up amazing deals. Most recently a Hi Point CF380 for $129. Got my Bushmaster AR15 for $449. Sometimes it's worth the extra drive.

I can see why Jason liked the TCP, great pocket carry. Now to design a pocket holster for it.

I did like it a lot!!
I got it before Ruger drastically lowered their price on their little LCP - and everyone sold out of them shortly thereafter!!
The TCP was an excellent value at that time compared to a Ruger - cheaper than the Kel-Tec too...

Well, The fellow I was waiting for finally gave me the go-ahead (and the money!!) to order that Rock Island Range Officer Operator last Friday...
I was waiting on him - I was gonna order my .380 along with his pistol.

So - I did one more check on .380's before I punched to order button...
Still not any spiffy black and gold Bersa's available...

I went back and looked at the Pico again...
I re-read the review I read about it before and noticed it had an "Update" I didn't notice the 1st time I read it...

It turns out that the eject problems it had were with the early models...
The tester dude got a new model and tested it and it actually did really great!!

And to repost this:
ricky_g wrote:
Beretta Pico all the way, you can change out the frame for ones of different color or with laser, also there is a .32ACP barrel swap for the Pico, take a few minutes and toss in the .32ACP barrel and on your way with a different caliber. i have a Taurus TCP and like it, but i would love the Beretta

And all that is all true - despite ricky_g deciding to erase it for some reason...

The Pico is a modular design - It has a "Chassis" with the serial number that can be popped out of the grip/frame.
The grip/frame is just a $25-$30 piece of plastic and comes in different colors and I think I can get one with a laser too.

So I went and looked on Beretta's web site and watch a couple video's.
And the thing that pushed me over the edge and made me change my mind...
Beretta has a $50 refund thing going on right now!! Woo-Hoo!!

So - instead of the Remington, I went ahead and ordered the Pico.

I hope it will be here by Wednesday - we'll see!!

That's the one I really wanted but after a long search could not find one.
Gave up and got the standard BT380. Not sorry as it's a great pistol!

I bet it is Volf!!
The guys around here have bragged up the Bersa a few other times too...

I'm still 2nd guessing myself - whether or not I shoulda bought the CC version Walt offered.

I don't think there was a really bad choice here with any of them.

A couple of other things I liked about the Pico is the sights!!
It has 3 dot sights and they are adjustable.
I really like that!!

It also has 2 Stainless Steel mags, and one has a finger extension I also really like - looks a little bigger than most.

Anyway - one of these days I'll get a Bersa.

Doesn't Hobbles shoot the heck out of a Bersa??
I think he has a 9mm though.

Reason for getting the Bersa was....
I always wanted a Walther PPK but it was outta my price range. So I got the look-a-like.
Glad I did - in fact liked it so much got the Bersa Ultra Compact Pro in 9mm.
What a super pistol! It's been my EDC. Then I read about the SCCY CPX-2
and watched the Hickok45 review on YouTube - good review of the pistol.
So I got it. It doesn't particulary like the Federal HST ammo and has the notorious trigger reset.
Working on learning to train my motor skills to adjust to the trigger reset.
Small and comfortable to carry. Time will tell.

Volf - That's something I'm not used to - the DA/SA thing...
My SIL just bought a new 9mm FNH pistol that's like that - I'm just not familiar enough with that set-up.

I kind like the "it doesn't cock and/or fire until I pull the 27 pound trigger" kinda gun.
Well - maybe a 10 pound trigger!!

Carting around a loaded Glock concealed scares the hell out of me.
Open carry in a holster would make me feel a little better about carrying one.
But, a little pull on the trigger and it fires!!
I'd shoot myself before I could wrench a huge Glock out of any concealed place I'd use...

Anyway - I should receive that little Beretta Pico tomorrow...
This will be one of the few brand-spankin' new guns I've bought for myself and I'm starting to get a little bit excited.

I'm wishing I would have ordered some ammo to go with it.

I haven't carried for the last week or two and I feel pretty naked without "my little friend" in my pocket.
Actually, I'm a little bit surprised how much it bothers me not to have a gun with me!!
It really gives me a sense of security to have it... I feel helpless without it.

But - It'll be here tomorrow!! :great:

I EDC usually a Bersa .380 or 9mm.
Got a SCCY CPX-2 9mm. No safety and DAO.
Small, concealable and reasonably priced at $229.
It's accurate, reliable and the odds of it going "bang" in my pants is non-existent
as the trigger pull is around 9 lbs.
And it's cute!
Started carrying that.

Well - It showed up yesterday!!

Image

It has a nice little soft case that came with it too!!

Image

I really like the mag-extension!! :great:
And the pretty stainless-steel mags it came with should last forever.
Those mags have some freakin' strong springs in them too!!

Image

The three-dot sights are a very nice thing to have too.
Lookin' forward to trying them out.

Image

The other side...
I really like the way the steel trigger feels too - It's a little wider and has a smooth surface.
I also like the pull - it's a heavy DA trigger of course, But it has a smooth consistent pull - no slack - and smoooooth... :thumb:

The take-down procedure is super-simple for this little .380 Pico too.
Just turn that circle thing with the slot in it right above the trigger and it comes apart - pretty slick!! :yes2:

Image

She fits right in my pocket holster perfectly - But those spiffy taller 3-dot sights DO catch on things a little more - but not too bad.

The mag-extension was a no-go for pocket carry - It would pull right out of my pocket ok IF everything was "just right".
But if it wasn't - it required a little finagling to get'er out.

The mag without the extension worked very well - I could whip that baby out consistently and had no problems or snags.
The sight's would catch on my pocket holster a little - but the pistol always came out.

I'll practice a little more with it and I'll look that pocket holster over a little closer and see if i can find the problem with it and the sights.
It's the rear sight - I know as long as I pull it straight out of the holster, it comes right out - no problem.
But if I yank harder on the bottom of the grip it tilts the pistol in the holster and the rear sight drag some.

I'm looking forward to running a few rounds through it and seeing how well it functions.
I'm going to the big city Saturday (that's the plan anyway!) and I'll see if I can find some more ammo.
Right now I just have my one box of the Hornady "Critical Defense" ammo - 25 rounds is all...

On the other-hand, I only shot that Taurus TCP 7 times... It worked fine!!
No sense in wearing it out. (-:
I think I told Tolly 8 rounds - but it was 7: 6 in the mag and 1 in the pipe...

I do like this Beretta Pico!!
I'm carrying it right now - and it feels good to have a little .380 back in my pocket!!
I don't feel naked a vulnerable anymore!! :scared:
And despite a couple more ounces, I can't tell any difference between it an the TCP Taurus I had before.

My wallet is a little lighter though...
I'll get that $50 rebate sent in tomorrow!!

I see I have to send in a copy of my 4473 to get it...
I hope I can pass the background check!! :D

I put 30 rounds through that TCP last week without an issue but I did order a Pierce extension for one mag to see if it helps with the control for follow up shots.
