Hi guys,

So I got this used Rock Island 45 for my birthday. With a few and minor exceptions, it looks exactly like any other 1911 I've used to include the magazine (and I want to purchase at least two more magazines). So, before doing that, Will any 1911 magazine work?

I'm not finding anything on line concerning this model. It is a few years old.

Any help appreciated.

I think if it's a 1911, any 1911 mag will work.
My son has a RI and a Kimber and he uses the mags interchangeably.

Kind of thought so. Can't wait to take it to the range.

This board can't take photos directly so we all use Photobucket or Imgur or such.

It's blued.

I actually worked on it a bit, and managed to upload some pictures of an exhibit honoring fallen WW II aviator's. Let me work on getting a picture of the 1911 and I'll get it loaded.

Sorry if I'm late to the dance. I've got an RIA 1911 and I highly recommend the Chip McCormick magazines. Check them out at this link: http://www.cmcmags.com/Powermags.html

I second the McCormick mags. I have a couple and like them. They have never failed to
work flawlessly.

Looks to be parkurized. You sure that's blueing? Same finish on my Turk 1911.

Now that you bring it up, I think you just might be right. It does look and feel different from some of those that I know are blued.

Should be taking it to the range next weekend (hopefully).
