I finally got the Stag looking grips drilled out that I got from Ricky_G a couple years ago.
I think they look good on my Springfield, but what do you guys think?
The other one belongs to my brother.
He keeps it around for home defense, but his wife, being from England, doesn't like him fondling guns, or really, even having them around.
He asked me to clean it and lube it and shoot it.
I shot it, and about half the rounds wouldn't go into battery, but with a gentle nudge went right in.
I'm thinking it's just gunked up and a good old fashioned cleaning and lube job should fix it right up.
It probably hasn't been fired in 15 years or more.

My dad made those maple grips.
I have a Beretta pistol with the same wood and a Winchester Model 12 with a maple stock he made

A Google cleaning should do it. Those are nice grips.

While I have a fair stable of semi's and revolvers (like them all), I really like 1911s!

I'm looking for a full size (5") 1911 and an officer's (3"). I love my commander and carry it often.

Check into Tisas. I got mine form Jame Wayne Gunshop for $351 NIB. Needed trigger work which I did myself. It's still not like my Dan Wesson but it wasn't $1200 either.
I'll take my Tisas .45 1911 (with a 10 round Chip McCormick mag into a battle any day! Probably 1500 rounds through it now. Still the best pistol I own that I can hit the mark shooting left hand.
Don't know how much that's worth, but it's one that I won't trade!
