If you get to my neck of the woods or I get to yours we'll go shoot some revolvers.

Seems like a good shot to me. Yea, you won't be picking off bad guys on rooftops like John Wayne, but the reality is those full size revolvers weigh in at at around 3lbs. I find holding it steady with one hand impossible. What works for me is picking up the iron sights with the gun pointed below the target. Then with a slow smooth motion, I raise the gun until the sight crosses the target and squeeze the trigger. I'm sure it violates every rule of good marksmanship, but the smooth muscle motion removes the shake that develops when I hold 3 lbs with my arm stretched out.

They say some gunslingers killed over ten people in their careers. Is that how many they actually aimed at?

I think it's funny when they always hit their target in the movies.

Back during the pierce a penny contest about a million years ago on here I did succeed in putting a hole through the middle of a penny with my .22 Savage at 100yards. It only took a few hundred rounds to do so so the law of averages had to be on my side.

I doubt I could see a penny at 100, even with a scope, but none of mine are really very high powered.
I think a 3-9 is about the best I have :dunno:

When I was a youngster and my older brother had a 30-30 Marlin - And I thought that thing was just Awesome back then!!

Anyway, he shot a hole through a quarter - another thing I thought was just SO cool!!

It was pretty much a dead-center hit and that quarter reminded me to a small funnel - or if you turned it around and set it on the table it looked like a tiny volcano...
Really stretched that sucker out!!

Oh - it was more like a 15 yard shot too - not this "Snipersville" 100 yard shot at a penny stuff!!!

A 45 slug through a quarter would be cool... (-:

One time, years ago, my brother-in-law and I were out shooting our twentyritwofles, and I shot a penny and a nickle.
I was pretty proud of my accomplishment until I got home and showed the (then) wife.
She blew a gasket "Why don't you just take the check book next time, maybe burn some paper money"
She was mad for a week over 6 cents, or maybe she was mad that I was happy about something. :dunno:
