Got my Vaquero today.
It's the Old Model in .45 Colt, made in 1993, the first year they were made.
I'll try to get some better pictures tomorrow, but this gives you an idea

I love the case hardened look. It gives it that "I'm gonna be around for a couple hundred years" look! I gave my daughter in law an unfired Army San Marco black powder revolver that had that treatment. She works for the historical society and her speciality is the Civil war, so she really liked it. The Vaquero is the real deal. I'm going to enjoy it vicariously. Shoot some "cowboy action" while somebody takes some pictures so you can catch smoke leaving the barrel.

Enjoy shooting it. If you're looking for a home for the brass I can help with that.

I'll hang on to it :)
Maybe I should learn to reload, this thing is going to be expensive to shoot. :hmmm:

Gorgeous piece Tim!!! And yes, you should start reloading. You've known it for some time
and been fighting the urge. Your eyes are getting heavy... you want to reload, you want to make
your own ammo. ;) Really though, you should. Especially for pieces like that!

That's in great condition and really looks like a keeper!

A nice Tolly hip holster with tie down and a belt with ammo loops and you will look like you belong there in the backyard...Don't forget the horse though. And a nice Outback duster http://www.cabelas.com/product/Outback-Trading-Company-Mens-Long-Unlined-Drover/724153.uts?productVariantId=2002074&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=90202028&rid=20&gclid=CPH0sqnSz9ICFQ-1wAodf5cPpg&gclsrc=aw.ds

Took a couple shots at beer cans today.
I'm not much of a one handed shooter.

I saw nothing wrong with that! One hand with birdshead grip? Maybe not a sharpshooter but it was your first few rounds through it holding a camera. :thumb: 'sides, those old style sao pistolas where only s'posed to be used one-handed anyway.
