Picked this up at the gun show today.
Been curious about these for a long time, and thought maybe it's time to scratch that itch.
I didn't get to shoot it yet other than putting 5 rounds through it just to see how it ran and felt.
So far so good.
The grip is very aggressive, and fills my hand really well. It's easy to hang on to and points well.
I'll know more when the weather allows me to hang some paper.
A couple of observations:
The safety lever feels cheap, not like the steel one on my previous version PT111.
The mags, while having a few differences will interchange between my previous version and the G2.
I like the 3 dot sights much better than the old Heinie sights.
The slide catch/release is stiffer than a teenage prom surprise.
The takedown is Glock-like and much better than the removable pin of the older versions.
Double strike capability, you can click click click without racking the slide. Only useful if you don't get a "BANG" when you pull the trigger.
I'll get this thing on some paper so I'll know more later, but in the meantime, here's the obligatory gun porn.

Got to take a few shots today.
Everything on it is pretty stiff yet, but it shoots ok
7 yards free standing

My understanding is those will take SIG P226 mags. MecGar makes an 18 or 20 rounder. Popular little gun.

Thanks
I will shoot a few hundred rounds through this thing, but I'm doubting it will replace my Shield for daily carry.
We'll see I guess

I always was a little curious about the G2 - I had a guy ask me about them a while back and I just didn't know much about them.

I guess I know a little more now!! (-:

And - That is some pretty good shootin' there Husker!!

This thing is pretty easy to shoot and seems well built.
I like the takedown way better than the older versions, and love the grip.
Hopefully, I'll have time and good weather this weekend to shoot it some and will be able to give a better report on it.
Jason, if you want to shoot it, it's just a few hours south and west of you

Did a little more shooting with the Taurus yesterday, about 150 rounds without a failure.
No pictures, but it shot pretty accurate, and we also hit some steel with it.
While we were at it, we shot my Savage .270 and my new AR at 200 yards, and both rifles were right on target.
Pretty good day of shooting all in all.

Nope, it looks like about 2 hours from you Scott, give or take depending on accuracy. From my post office to Rochester is 2hrs 4-8mins.
