I was looking for a new FFL to do transfers and came across a new shop in the next town over.

His prices seemed very reasonable and we talked a bit and he seemed like a decent guy.

I kinda took issue with the guy I was using because he didn't call in NICS when I there, not that I've ever been delayed or anything, just didn't feel right.

Anyway, he had a Taurus 709 slim and I've been wanting to check one out. I've been saving my pennies like a good boy so I could buy a new gun.

The price seemed good so I bought it, $181 out the door. I don't know how good it is but it seemed fair.

Another guy and his wife came in and ordered a couple s&w 9mm shields. He said he was hoping for a couple more orders to make the order for seven guns for some reason. I figured it's always good to help someone in need so I ordered a Shield in 45 ACP for myself.

I told him I may have to do a layaway and he was cool with it. Looks like I found my new FFL.

Wife just bought herself a 709 Slim, it's run 100% out of the box with Fiocchi 115gr factory loads and my 115 and 124gr reloads. It's as accurate as my SCCY but a bit too "slim" for my big hands, but she loves it. I've heard that the 7 round Hi Point magazines work in them and are a lot cheaper than original ones, I plan on picking up a few HP ones for range use. Mine was $190 out the door with the transfer fee.
