Husk both of those incidents were my fault not the guns. A glock is a great gun as long as you leave that trigger alone. I keep any that I have loaded (and I still keep one loaded with one in the chamber) in a retention holster with a push button release. As long as that trigger is covered nothing bad will happen. Don't worry about being a "dick" I fucked up, I'm a big boy. I can take my lumps ;)

I seem to pocket carry my Taurus TCP a lot in these summer months but when it cools off and I get a holster made for the 45 Shield I think that'll become my daily carry.

Do as you feel safe and necessary.

If a gun is in my safe, it's unloaded, magazine out.

Otherwise, whether it's stashed some place or carried on me, it's got one in the chamber ready to go. Its' primary use is self defense, so having it in a condition where I have to depend on having two hands and an extra 2 seconds time doesn't work for me.

If the mentally deficient are not allowed to own guns then why should they be allowed to make gun laws?

The guns are drop safe, and unless you've made "improvements" to the weapon, they don't have a hair trigger. When guys come over to shoot, "Finger off the trigger" has come out of my mouth more than once. That habit along with clearing the chamber before cleaning will take care of 99.9% of the accidental discharges. The other .1%? If lightning strikes your gun while your carrying there's nothing you can do. (Disclaimer; Keep in mind I'm an amateur who's words carry no weight)

We're supposed to treat all gun like they're loaded. My P64 has a loaded chamber indicator. Even in the dark I can feel the nub with my thumb and know I'm ready. The Phoenix can be checked visually by moving the slide an eighth of an inch. All guns should have some way of knowing if their loaded. (In my opinion).

Contraire my friend! Those words carry many life times of weight, especially for those of whom have ignored such advice!!!

Yep! Well said!

Guns don't spontaneously go off.
Guns don't even accidentally go off.
But a lot of people accidentally pull triggers for a lot of different reasons.
