I had satellite internet for years and years, slow and limited bandwidth. Beats dialup and that's about it honestly.

When we got the chance to get fiber optic internet we jumped on it..... no looking back.

It was satellite or dialup here in the boonies. I don't look for fiber optic to be offered here in my lifetime, just not enough customers. They'd have to run 13 miles of it and all it would cover would be 6 houses.

I think I can get DSL here but haven't tried. MO, use your phone as a modem that's what I do now. It ain't blazing fast but it's better than satellite because the speeds never slow down. Unless there is no tower nearby, then you're stuck.

My phone coverage sucks...we're in the BOONIES. In order to make sure a call doesn't get dropped I have to either go outside up on the hill or go sit on the crapper in the back bathroom or lay on the bed, the signal everywhere else goes from terrible to non-existent.

Maybe try asking your cell phone company for a signal booster, you are paying for a signal from them right? It is their responsibility to give you what you are paying for.

In case anyone is wondering, I shot this yesterday. Just used random ammo I had around, some factory and some reloads. Wind was gusting and I couldn't keep real steady and didn't have a rest. Shot pretty consistently 2-3" at 50 yards. Now I'll get a good load and see what I can get on a not s windy day.

Well, with windy conditions, no rest and random ammo, it can only get better

I've got some 55 grain loaded over 26 grains of BL-C 2 so I'm hoping to try them Thursday if the weather participates.

I'm pretty sure the weather will participate, just not the way you hope it will...chance of snow here, and at the least drizzle. Hope it stays south for ya.

26grs of BLC-2 proved out to be the best in my 1:7 twist back when I still had it, and ran good in the 1:8's too. I've switched back to it as I just can't find 8208XBR here at all. I found that using magnum primers lessened the temp sensitivity of BLC-2 during cold weather so since I can get it fine I'll probably stick with it as it's cheaper too.

Copper is just as fast as fiber. Even Steven. Fiber has less loss and has less "noise" on the line.

For DSL, you have to be within 1500 ft of a CO. With cable TV/Internet, they have amplifiers that don't
cost must, to get the tv and internet signals to you. With no cable in area, you're right about dialup or
satellite, with the addition of Randys cellphone solution. Which is spotty in your area.

But for the record, fiber is not any faster than copper. Also, they can run multitudes of more phases (signals)
through fiber, so it's an advantage to the vendor companies.

Phone lines "may" have been upgraded to fiber, I see posts with Alltel Fiber Optic signs on them on the road in and then on down the crossroad about a 1/4 mile up from us, but we're the ONLY house down this road, there's a cabin a few miles on down that hasn't been occupied full time, supposedly the owners come down once every couple of years or so. No Alltel signs on this road. I gave up my online gaming that I did but knew that going into this deal and small sacrifice. I get 10 gigs of data a month, with what I do we usually end up with half of it left at the end of the month so the wife and I will burn it up on the last evening watching Netflix on the big living room tv instead of on our phones lol.

;) Good use for the extra! If it's as close as it is, you'll eventually get it. Too bad later than sooner :(

I wouldn't count on getting that fiberO anytime at all. I also have fiber run a half mile from me, it is off-limits to rural residents. It the main feed to a small town south of here about six miles. It runs right through my neighbors yard and he isn't allowed to hook up either. I also have a natural gas pipe about 200 yards to the west, same thing, it's high pressure transport, no tie-ins. It runs right under all the fields. Only buried about 10 inches behind the house in the same neighbors filed. He can't even do any deep tillage in that area.
