Traded for this one, it will be here Monday. Its a 1860 Enfield .577 musket that has been modified in around 1867 by an American named snider as a breech loader. Old enough that it is made of iron not steel. Of course low power loads only. It was sent to Canada in the 1870s when the Irish in America tried to invade Canada and take it hostage to try and force the British out of Ireland.... It and its brothers must have worked, the invasion didn't succeed. This rifle is now my oldest firearm at 156 years old.

Store bought ammo for this baby is $10 a ROUND... luckily a 24 gauge shotgun shell can be trimmed down and works perfectly for reloading purposes :)

I've got an old Zulu (I think that's what it's called) shotgun that was converted from a French musket that loads like that

Thank you tolly, I think its pretty cool too :) Missed out on a Martini Henry (the rifle used in the movie Zulu) tried to trade but the guy didn't want anything I had..... I'm on an old gun kick right now if you haven't noticed LOL Traded for a really neat Spanish Astra 400 semi auto pistol in 9mm Largo recently too... It was made in 1924.

Husk pull that puppy out and take some pics, I would love to see it.

Dog-gonnit Walt!!

Some time you should treat yourself to something really nice...
Enough of these old guns - go buy yourself a NEW gun!!

It seems like you've done this long enough that you could "splurge" at
least once, and go get any "New In The Box" gun you want!!

I might even throw in a few bucks if that's what it takes...
Just so we could see you be happy!! :great:

But that IS a pretty cool old rifle!!
A lot of history there - too bad it can't talk... :D

I love the history of the old guns.
Nothing I enjoy more than buying an old gun, then try to find out everything I can.
Date of birth, any interesting history, value, all that stuff.

That's a nice one Walt! And quite the conversion for an iron unit!

Actually Jason I just got a NIB Taurus M44 stainless 6 shot 44 magnum with a 4 inch ported barrel, and I have a NIB Rossi R92 blued .454 Casull blued 20 inch barrel is on its way... That takes care of the new gun urge for the month LOL

I don't bother showing off the new stuff like that, I only bring up the ones that I think are really interesting.

I was looking at that m44, looks like fun to shoot. I had a super Blackhawk that I lived to shoot but a roof was more important.

Yeah it sucks to have to sell a gun for something like a roof, but depending on the gun you can always get another one down the road.

I had a sweet 44 mag stainless Bisley Super Blackhawk that I sold, and got to missing it so when I sold my Taurus 627 357 mag I decided to get the new 44 mag.

I have a super redhawk stainless 454 Casull with a 7 1/2 inch barrel... ugly gun imo but a real hand cannon.. but I don't shoot that one too much

Those big rounds are definitely cannons! Haven't shot the Casull, but did get the opportunity with a .480 Ruger. Better be ready and braced or you'll dent your forehead! LOL

You want to shoot something fun, check out the Magnum research BFR revolvers. Mine is a 45/70 gov 5 shot with a 10 inch barrel... talk about a handful! I think its more fun to shoot than my redhawk 454 and the desert eagle 50ae. Ranks right up there in coolness factor too.

That would be awesome to shoot Walt. I've looked at them and really want one but way out of my price range.
