I've had my WASR listed on Armslist in a couple different areas hereabouts with no bites except for the usual scams and a couple trade offers that were way out of the question. I've had a couple guys say "well, if you had the wood furniture I'd be interested. Ran across a great deal for brand new laminate stock sets online so picked one up for $30 shipped and took all the "tacti-cool" stuff off and put it back to (almost) the original configuration. Still kept the slot muzzle brake as it does a lot better job than the standard slant brake.

Also first try at posting images from imgur..files are too big to post images, but links should work fine hipefully.

Changed the photo on the listing, no bites over the weekend other than a trade offer for a brand new Sig P320 compact medium frame 9mm in FDE, retails for $579 so I'm actually considering it.

What are you asking for the rifle?
Where did you get the stock?

I know it is off topic but to be able to post pics, they need to be under 1000 pixels tall and 800 pixels wide at the max and preferrably less than those values to be safe. If you have photo editing software such as gimp, photoshop, etc, you can rescale your pics to those values so that they will post up. Good luck on the pic posting and good luck on the sale of your WASR!

If you send them with your phone - I send them "medium" sized and they work here just fine.
That's with photosuckit - imgur might be a different thing...

:thumb: Gun looks good Mo!! :great:

I'm aware of the size restrictions for photos on this forum, I just didn't have time to resize them. I don't have any photo editing software on this computer, and the disc for the one that I used mysteriously disappeared during the move from the living room into my office somehow. I have to resend the pics from my phone like Jason said and resize them on it and all will be good, it was just my initial foray into using imgur instead of photosuckit.

I have it listed at $650 in order to give me wiggle room for lower offers, if someone wanted to give me that for it I would happily take it. I swapped a polymer lower AR15 build for it in the folding Tapco stock with carrying case and five mags, all I've done is cut the welded-on muzzle cover off and install a Tapco slot brake, then buy the laminate stock set. Oh, and shoot it...a lot... :minigun: What I'm running into a lot is people saying that they can get a new WASR for $600. Yep, you can..and they all have cast trunnions versus the forged ones used in these.

Bought the stock set from Clearview Investments. It was brand new, I even had to drill the holes for the screws to hold the stock to the receiver. Photo just doesn't do it justice though. I have a thing for laminate stocks, my favorite Mosin is a 1928 ex-dragoon hex in one.

Hey there Mogunner et al, FWIW, when time is not an issue, you can edit and/or resize pics within IMGUR.
My problem is that I sometimes remove older pics from my albums having forgotten that I posted them on various forums. DOH!
While we "silver backs" are strong, we're not very smart sometimes (might just be me). ;)

If you're using Windows, follow these steps with MS Paint.

http://www.wikihow.com/Resize-an-Image-in-Microsoft-Paint

Hint: Select Pixels so that you know you're within the limits of the forum software and the "[X] Maintain Aspect Ratio" checkbox is checked for MS Paint to resize to what is needed here.

If you got a Mac, you're on your own. Sorry.

Yep, time is always the deciding factor, not a lot of spare time in my day. When I do have some I usually spend it collapsed in my recliner with a dog on my lap, watching Counting Cars or whatever I have on the DVR.

Mo I guess they are out of those stock sets for 30 shipped.

I have a WASR 10/63 underfolder that has the black plastic furniture on it and I would like to put wood on it... any body know where a person can get a upper and lower handguard and pistol grip, new or used that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Dang, looks like I musta got the last one! Might have to go with one of their unfinished ones...I did some quick searching and was sure glad I grabbed that set when I did, it looks like most places are wanting $100 and up for stock set. I did find a set for a Romanian at Apex for $39.99 plus shipping, but it has the "ding" handguard on it that I hate.

If you want a bakelite pistol grip I have one that had a small crack at the top that I repaired that I'd send you.

There's always Ebay
Or Russian Surplus.net
Or really, just about any surplus site will have some with character.
