well, I did go to the range, and then I shook off my poor performance (which you will not see pictures of), and went back yesterday, with pistols anyway. the carbine results are from my first outing and I doubt seriously I could ever do much better unless I went with the 22.

My results: 39 pts. with my 4" 1911
Image Image

Carbine score is 35 pts

Image

I shot at only two targets with my carbine, and a total of 7 with the pistols, 3 with the 4" and 4 with the 5". I had hoped to enter both but then I noticed it said 4.5" or shorter.
here 'tis anyway, my new Remington is a fine point shooter!

So, with 1 weekend left in the time limit, here are the standings, as I see them:

Carbine/rifle challenge:

1st: Phat Mike: 39
2nd: Condition 1: 35
3rd: Ajole: 27

And in the pistol challenge:

1st (tied) Condition 1 w/centerfire: 39
(tied) Phat Mike w/rimfire: 39
2nd: Cornhusker: 32
3rd: Mechwolf: 25
4th: Phat Mike w/centerfire: 21

This isn't my challenge, but if it were me, I'd split the tie by rewarding the centerfire for difficulty...

Come on folks, lets get some more entries!

Well I don't wanna be counted until I sent in the target photo. My brother is off tomorrow so I'll have him put it on the gig stick. I want to play by the same rules. It's not my fault that my computer sucks and I don't have the money to upgrade. If you want, you can count it, and I promise to send it.
Thanks for the trust. Not enough of that in this screwed up world.

I tried the centerfire challenge yesterday with the mosin and with my .22. Without a two point rest I suck! I won't have time or the money for ammo to try it again. :(

Gotta go put up fence soon or at least before it rains (AGAIN!!)

Ok, here is the best target after I counted points. I used Walt's suggestion and put some black paper on top of it when my brother scanned it and it turned out great. Please count carefully. I don't know if the pic gives it justice because I nicked the 5 point mark and two nicked the 4 point mark, they're really close together. Next time I'm gonna break out the MagTech ammo and probably get a better grouping. Here it is.

How many points do you count on the above target? I count 25 or possibly 26. I'll let you guys decide.

About 8 months after my riding accident, when I had advanced to being able to get around on crutches, my mare tore down an electric fence we were using to split a 10 acre pasture to keep one of my geldings out of the Alsyke clover - he's allergic. Getting all the horses back where they belonged was easy enough, but getting them to leave me alone while repairing the fence was a bitch. :roflol:

So, with 2 hours left in the time limit, here are the standings, as I see them:

Carbine/rifle challenge:

1st: Phat Mike: 39
2nd: Condition 1: 35
3rd: Ajole: 27

And in the pistol challenge:

1st (tied) Condition 1 w/centerfire: 39
(tied) Phat Mike w/rimfire: 39
2nd: Cornhusker: 32
3rd: Mechwolf: 26 (based on that last target)
4th: Phat Mike w/centerfire: 21

This isn't my challenge, but if it were me, I'd split the tie by rewarding the centerfire for difficulty...

So...anyone got any left to enter? I was going to go shooting today...but the Honey-do list caught up with me, and the wind was CRAZY.
