The best part is the disclaimer at the end. (Which just proves I watch these to the end). Had BarnOwl been born in a previous generation, there's a good chance he would have been a writer for the show "Get Smart".

Not dark at all Owl! Spot on and very much appreciated for what it is. Your exactly right. Many forget all about what this "holiday" is. Many forget about what ALL holidays are.
A time to remember, a time to give thanks for all that we have. I'm an old fart now and I can say that most of my life, a holiday was great because it was a day off work.

I think this is one of your best videos! I thank you, all those before us and our Lord for all that we have.

The original Thanksgiving was to thank God that only half of them died from exposure, disease, and starvation...just so that they could practice a flavor of Christianity of their choosing. Today, instead if embracing a Christian way of life, society is trying to erase is from our schools and institutions. I believe it was Joseph Stalin that tried to outlaw religion, calling it "the opium of the people". We must remain vigilant to preserve our freedom, and be thankful for all those who perished it that fight. The liberals like to rewrite the stories to fit their narrative like " Thanksgiving was about thanking the natives". My favorite however, is the story about Robinhood " stealing from the rich and giving to the poor". He was a guy who stole from the tax collector, and returned the money to the people who earned it. Social engineering has been with us for a long time and I'm greatful I live in a country where it's been held in check.

Hey Owl, Great Thanksgiving video! It was heartfelt and honest, can't be any better than that.

The walk through the cemetery reminded me of a walk my wife and I did through a small cemetery at the top of a hill in a remote town in rural Wisconsin where one of her distant relatives is buried. Some of the dates were of people bone in the late 1700s. The thing that blew me away were the number of markers of children under 1 year with no first name. My wife told me that infant mortality was so bad that people didn't name their children until they were sure the child would live a year. In some sections, baby headstones out numbered the adults. Talk about something to be greatful for... modern medicine. She had me find a rock to place on her relatives headstone to signify to others that someone had been there to pay respect. I never heard of such a custom. My relatives are in a mausoleum.

I love to visit cemeteries, and it is indeed sad to see so many small children and even whole families taken out by things like the common flu that we take for granted today that we will survive.

I saw one plot dated to the mid 1800's where mom, dad, two daughters and a son were buried within a two month period. Had to be disease of some sort.
