I just had a 3 hour range session last evening, and 2 HP carbines were used.
My 995TS (<100 rounds) and a good friend's 4095TS (<50 rounds). 50 ft,
but that was where we were pistol shooting, so we just stayed there for a
bit of carbine fun. I rapid-fired the 4095, all shots in a 3" circle, and if you remove
3 "flyers" I had 7 shots in a 1.5" pattern. This one was wearing a red dot.
My 995, with irons, had 2 - 5 shot groups very tight. (2.5")
Very pleased with the Hi-Points, except for my 15 round ProMag, it was obvious
that it need some work on the feed lips. Nose-Dive City! :(

PS: The round counts for the carbines last night were 20 each, plus 20 out of the KelTec Sub2000 in 40 S&W
My factory mag baseplate shot off of it, and rocketed into the deep woods/weeds. Think KT will replace it???

The pistol practice shooting was all 22, and a tube of 22 shorts thru the Henry Octagon Barrel :D
Used the Phoenix HP22 and my bud's Ruger MkIII, and he also has a sweeeeeet OLD Colt Woodsman!
I put 10 thru that, all in about a 3" pattern. Very Nice Gun! No Optics, and the sights are very basic.
Needs some hi-viz paint on there, but he does not want to mod a $1000+ handgun. I would not either...

I'd put the paint on it. Paint can be removed easily. I really like this 1.5 oz tub of high vis orange I got at
Ace Hardware. It's a "hobby paint". Sticks well enough to the front blade but if I try, I can remove it with my thumbnail.
No worries about it damaging the gun or reducing it's value.

And WOW dies it improve the ability of my old eyes to see it!!!

That would be fine, then...
He does not shoot it much, and it was his Grandfather's woods gun.
Only ever had the one magazine. It is a 1932 model, but shoots like
"Better than NEW!"

It shoots like it, Too!

I'm not a big fan of the new "poly-guns" and have sold most of mine.
Replaced them with HEAVY METAL, of course ;)

Less Quantity, more QUALITY :D

Back to the OP, my 995 (Original but with an ATI stock) is my skunk gun.
When head shots count
Nice old Colt :great:
The only Colt I have is a 1917 revolver in 45 acp with a snubbed barrel

I would think a scope on a carbine would be "X" ring accurate to very good distances...
The cheap factory ammo we were using was pretty sweeet, although it was short range.

The Colt very much reminds me of an old Hi Standard .22 I had many moons ago.
