Quick post, haven't done any editing to the pics, so they might not be all that spectacular as they were taken with a Samsung Note4 cell phone.

First up is taken from the shooting table. No target stands in place yet, just rudimentary markings for the 25, 50 and 100 yard spots.

Image

Couple of target stands I put together from local sawmill lumber, actually from trees off the property.

Image

Here it is today, zoomed in so you can see the stand placements and the swinging target for .22 plinking.

Image

And here's the target from today's "break-in", testing some "no heavy metals" Russian primers in the AR, 55gr Xtreme FMJ bullets and 25.5gr of 8208. 100 yards, had to reset the scope a bit as everything got a bit bumped around during the move, someone actually thought it a good idea for the stepson to SIT ON MY HARD CASE with the two AR's in it the entire 100 mile trip down here... :groan:

Image

Here's my view out the front yard...

Image

And relaxing on the back deck....

Nothing like shooting in your own yard is there?

Gotta love Missouri, the views can't be beat in the southern half of the state! :thumb: The north half looks just like where I live, flat to slightly rolling hills and nothing spectacular to see. :(

Is that red beer I spy on the railing? That makes me thirsty! My second favorite cold beverage, with my first being Midnight Moon Blackberry shine on the rocks (or straight out of the jar. 100 proof of pure heaven. :thumb:

But looking off to the left of that picture I see why I left Missouri, near ninety degrees in the shade. I'm fairly certain the humidity was over 65% at the same time. Here we have one 87 degree all this year. I've run the AC for four days total on two different occasions and that was really only due to the extreme humidity on those days. I remember camping in the Mark Twain Nation forest and it still being 80 degrees at midnight. Miserable camping weather. Probably why I won't own a plastic type tent or even camp anymore, it's no fun camping if you are tired and sore from sleeping on the ground. Hmmmm....Uh, nice place MO...That's all I came here to say... :ninja:

1. Yes, that's a red beer, my personal preference for the small amount of alcohol that I do drink, although I have been known to snag one of the wife's strawberry Smirnoff's on occasion. The red beer is great after a long day of outdoor work, I crave the salt more than the beer I believe!

2. Both those thermometers always read 80-90 degrees, even when in the 70's, just haven't replaced them with working ones yet!

3. I'm very happy with the performance of the Anderson 16" 1:8 twist barrels. That was out of my personal favorite, the FDE with 3-9x50 Tasco scope off a Caldwell rest. I've got two stripped lowers waiting to be built but the move cost way more than projected and we just got the roof on the shop, still have to redo the wiring as it was previously done by ignorant people and it's a wonder the place didn't go up in flames. Circuits were overloaded, not a wire nut or junction box to be found. Wires were just twisted together then taped, sometimes as many as four in one!
