I took the new SF XD Mod.2 .45 to the range this morning. For a sub compact the recoil is surprisingly manageable. About the same as a C9 or maybe a little less.
Trigger is great. I'd guess it to be between 5-6lbs. and very crisp. I ran 75 rds.,with no FTF or FTE, through it. (230gr. Federal FMJ in brass and aluminum). I pulled the first few shots to the left, then improved my stance and shot straight.
The RSO at Knob Creek put 3 rds in a 2" group at 20 yds.

Sounds GREAT Biff. Wish I could put ANYTHING in a 2" group other than the food I put in my mouth! ;)

I forgot to post the pic of the target for the range report. The shots at the upper portion (head) were the first 10 rds. As I said, I was pulling left on those shots. I squared up, extended my arms to a locked position, leaned forward a little at the waist and focused on the task at hand with the next mag of 13 rds. That resulted in better shots to the torso. For an old geezer, I'm confident I can defend myself.
BTW, the target was set at 20 yds.

Most encounters where a gun is necessary for defense occur at less than 21 feet. Cut your range to 7 yards and I imagine you can easily keep shots in the 'zone'

Always nice to have a new gun to shoot, isn't it?
