What leads you to believe the rounds are chinese? I'm willing to bet there were the result of some overzealous or inexperienced home reloader.

This is a zombie thread that wont die, these pics have been around for YEARS, it was originally posted that he screwed up reloading. Importing ammo from China has been illegal for many years. For some reason these pics and posts pop up all over ever do often, this is the third forum I've seen them posted on in the past two days...

Also one might wonder about the fact that China must be importing Hornady bullets to use in their cheap ammunition... :funny:

Whatever the cause, it would have sucked to be the person that pulled the trigger on that one. Just saying ;)

I remember this being posted before too. I never thought about ammo not being imported from China.
But how hot would a cartridge have to be to chain fire like that?

I would think an accidental double charge of powder would have the potential to cause that kind of damage. Especially on a powerful round like the .44 mag is to begin with.

Don't know that they chain fired, looks like the rounds on the two sides were torn open by lateral forces.

+1 mogunner, I too saw these pics several years ago and there was no mention of imported ammo, but rather the owner was testing out a new load. It's like that campfire game where someone tells a story and it gets passed on and on. By the time it gets around, the details, sometimes the whole story has completely changed.
