I have seen a pic of a 100 rd mag (not drum) for an AK47...... it comes out of the magwell and curves and touches the rifle at the end of the barrel.

I love to see a range report on that magazine -- I can't imagine it works well.

And it's claimed they don't feed well either, which is too bad; but a 75 round drum is already pretty heavy.

Yep, a belt fed saiga 12 ;)

Seriously, I have seen a guy that made a belt fed 12 gauge machine gun on youtube. He was having a few stoppages but all in all it was working pretty damn good.

I look at this and I suppose it could be done. But I would have to see it fire to believe it.

Meh ...

This guy has been posting about his 10 round mag for a while. I guess it works well but why, when the Enfield mag works so well and doesn't protrude so far. For a bolt rifle I prefer the Mauser double-stack mags with around 5 rounds so they're flush with the bottom of the stock. One of the worst features of hi capacity mags is that they stick so far out of the rifle. I also think it encourages bad habits. I still think it's fun to cut loose with a large-cap mag in FA too.
