Yup, there's purty, then there's PURTY!

Mighty nice there Donnie!

I do appreciate new firearms as being purty, however, there is not one made in the last 150years that even comes close to comparing with the old Squirrel guns of old. The old Kentucky, Pennsylvanian, and Tennessee long rifles with curly maple stocks, inlaid brass, and exquisite hand engraving and flowing lines. Too bad, they are my preference but not owned by me. :( They are much too expensive for me, nor would I be the appropriate caretaker of one (or more). I've never been able to keep nice- nice. When I use my stuff I tend to use it to the limits of it's design. My trucks, cars, motorcycles, tractors, lawn equipment, firearms, you name it, I'll push it's design limits whether intentionally or just because I'm naturally hard on things :dunno:

This is a few of my mottley crew of non-purties but functionals---

I know what you mean about the old guns. I would live to find a nice antique or two one day.
