I've never even seen a hi point in person until the other day. I saw a 9mm pistol at a gun store and at that price I had to grab it.

I took it out to the range right after buying it. It shot well for me, but it jammed a couple times when my wife was shooting it. Not sure if I just got lucky or if my wife was just not holding it firmly or something.

Are there accessories or mods that I should look into? Any accessories or mods that I should avoid? Any particular ammo that works better than the rest?

I think I'm going to pick up the .40 caliber and .45 caliber too. At that price, for all American made, I just can't pass that up.

firstly welcome in!, keep mags loaded for a while to make the spring stiffness go away, winchester white box ammo seems to give lots of C-9's trouble, the C-9 i had loved federal, trial and error with ammo works well since each gun has it's own uniqueness!!! aftermarket mags will void factory warranty(and one of the best warranties in the industry) as for the .40 & .45, i had the .40, and it was a beast that ate all ammo up with ease.

You can't limp wrist them you have to lock up your wrist solid.

Okay good, so it was probably just her limp wristing it. It didn't jam on me so I kind of thought that's what it was.

The thing was only about $200 brand new, including tax, background check, etc. How can anyone walk past that without snatching it up? It's pretty accurate and appears to be reliable, so $200 seems unreal.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll try some federal ammo and I'll stay away from the after market magazines.

Welcome to the forum!

Mags on them are definitely the weak link. Like said, load full and let them set a while.
On mine, I took some 800 grit paper and "de-burred" the underside of the magazine feed lips.

Pistolman, had a chance to get the 9mm back out with different ammo and re-test?
