Last year a business associate told me he wanted to buy a handgun and I convinced him to get a CF380. It didn't make sense spending big bucks on a high end gun until he had a better idea of what his preferences would be. Last week, 6 months later, he took his unfired pistol to a concealed carry class. At the range the instructors had several expensive guns to try, and with inexperienced shooters, there were plenty of jams. But, the Hi Point CF380 never failed to fire. I had warned him that they take a couple boxes to break in, but it was not the case. His Hi Point didn't require any excuses (it's the ammo, it's the weather, it's the grip.....). I'm not saying they're as good as a $1200 1911, but it's cool when these guns shine. He was happy with his purchase, and I was pleased with the outcome.

Like my SIL and his spiffy new spendy 9mm FNH...
That thing was a jammin' jam-o-metic until he got it broke in and he found the kind of ammo it liked.

I told him, "If a Hi-Point does this - it's a worthless POS... But when it happens to an expensive gun, it just needs to be broke in..."

And he hates Hi-Points!! :roflol: :funny:
