A buddy has a birthday coming and I was thinking of sending him a set of grips from Hi Point. My wife likes the snake skin, I like the dark wood. I know their under $20 bucks but I want to dress the gun up, not make it look cheesy or cheap. For Christmas I bought him the Hi Point holster and liked it so much I bought one for myself. Anybody have a strong preference either way like, "the __________ grips look like cheap pearlized plastic." Or, "I've got the __________ grips and get a lot of complement ."

Depends on your buddy's taste, of course. I personally like the carbon fiber style, but any of those offerings from HP look good on the gun.
How's he feel about pink camo??

Carbon fiber looks cool. Not sure what he'd think of me if I gave him Pink Camo. Not sure what the wife would think if I gave him Pink Camo. I guess he's not my type. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." Lol. I guess my type is ......I know.......not guy?

If I gave him Pink Camo grips and he liked em, then the post plinking cookout would have to include vegi kabobs and I'd have to stock wine coolers in the ice chest. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." Just something that would be extra crap I don't need to deal with. :roflol:

We haven't really been a whole hell of a lot of help here, have we???

Not really Jasonsch. The problem is I've never seen a Hi Point in anything but black. I own 5, all black. The three guys I talked into buying HP....all black. Went to Dunham's Sports last week to handle the 995 with the spring loaded butt stock for the first time...only black available. Looking at pictures on line isn't the same. I'm gonna order him carbon fiber.I gotta do it today to get it to him on time. Rev_Biffs preference has been the only opinion stated. The "crackin' wise" is why I keep coming back so I don't mind. Most of my sharing is nonsense anyway.

George I hate to admit it, but sometimes we don't offer advice because we don't have any to offer... I have only had black Hi Points myself so not much I could contribute..

Yep - it seems "Black is where it's at" when it comes to Hi-Points.
I have only one and it's black.
It's an "Evil Black Gun"...

And IMHO, I do like that color best for a HP...
Maybe I'm just used to it!!

So I sent the carbon fiber grips to the buddy that Rev Biff suggested, but I also got the snake skin grips for my wife for her birthday yesterday. While I haven't seen the carbon fiber ones yet, the snake skin grips look pretty cool. When friends come over to shoot, I have a table where everyone places their hardware. There's usually a plethora of guns and ammo to choose from. This will make it easier to tell who's is who's. I'm thinking of painting a silver stripe on Nova's 380 mags to further reduce any chance of confusion. Anybody on the fence about the grips.....they look better in person than in the pics. Now I'm thinking of getting the Woodland camo ones for my C9.
