I seem to remember problems with ultramax ammo from years ago and wonder if anyone remembers
problems with that ammo and if it is still made today?

Nope, not me. And to be honest, never heard of that ammo before!

Years ago??? Like during the Eric Holder orchestrated ammo shortage when raw materials were in short supply, or are we talking earlier? I only used the brand during the "Great Ammo Shortage", and to be honest, none of the manufacturers were at their best.

Doesn't look like great stuff to me. Checked their page and ALL of their handgun offerings look to be pretty "powder puff" loads.
IE, .357 mag ammo that doesn't go over 1025 fps, or .40 that only goes 920 in 180 gn slugs. 10mm that only goes 1000fps in
180. in my hand loads that aren't max load, I get 1200 fps. That's a fair difference. Similar differences throughout their handgun
offerings. In .357 mag with 158 gn projectiles, I'm running about 1500 fps, still not at max load.

I don't specifically remember any problems with it... I have used it without any problems myself is about all I can say about it.

We will miss you Jerry Roberts - (woodyubet), you will not be forgotten.

We are better off from having known you Dean Stephens -(ampersand) It wont be the same around here without you.
