It should actually be titled "cold weather not shootin'". It was 60° two weeks ago. Last week in the 50s. It's in the freaking 20s today, when I've got time to shoot my new JHP. I know in February, 27° is gonna feel like summer, but right now it feels down right Arctic. I talked a buddy into buying a C9 the same day I bought the 45. Next weekend it's supposed to be in the 40s. Hopefully I can talk him into coming out for a gun break-in session. For now??? 20s with a 15 mph wind??? I'll take the wife Christmas shopping. Getting the shopping done somehow doesn't feel right either. It's not really Christmas until your racing around last minute and wrapping presents at 3am. Lol

I'm pretty Grinchy about Christmas. I decided to not go the commercial route any longer, I give out homemade stuff instead and request the same in return for the most part. My daughter usually gives me Bacon SPAM because she knows i go through a lot of it, and I do stick with her and my tradition of giving her a box of Chocolate-covered cherries which I've done pretty much her entire life.

I did just order a food dehydrator for the lesbians, however, but had it delivered since they hardly ever come down to visit us.

I don't mind shooting in the cold, but this wind is keeping me indoors

I sure miss living on a farm. Had my own outdoor range set up and shot at least weekly, year round. Rain, shine, snow, or blow, I was out shooting guns and bows. Now, living in the city and much shorter on funds, I have to be content with periodic trips to one of the indoor ranges where I can't shoot any rifles larger than .22 unless I use frangible ammo, and then the range is only 25yds. At least I can shoot pistols and pistol caliber carbines, but no rapid fire (dbl tap) and no draw and fire exercise, so it still sucks.

Anyway, my point is just be glad you have a place you can shoot and get out there when you can. Happy shootin.

I have my own range, but have been going to a conservation range about 30 miles from here just to shoot somewhere FLAT...my range drops 40' from the bench to the 100 yard target stand, more like practicing to be a sniper than just regular shooting.

Well...they changed the forecast from 40s to 30s for Saturday. I have a grandkids Christmas thing in the afternoon so we'd have to shoot in the morning...20s? I don't think so. Maybe the forecast will change to something more favorable.
I keep pestering my shootin' buddy to join this group. He may be reluctant to join because of the knowledge scrum that goes on at other sights. I've tried to explain that it's not like that here. I think he went by the name "Motorcycle Leo" at a Russian motorcycle forum we briefly participated in. He's a good guy who loves the 3 Gs. God, guns and girls. And he's older so his gun collection is eclectic without being pretentious. I'm gonna keep working on it.
