Everyone should bookmark this one. I'm going to for sure.
Now all we need is one on the other three calibers.

Haha you used my pics for the polish pics? That took me like less then 5 minuets to do and its not the best polish job I have ever done. Dremmel+wirebrush and then polishing compound=fast, quick, and smooth as butter. I also just taped everything off with duct tape which wasnt gonna get polished and went at it, it worked very well at keeping the polish out of all the nooks and crannies.

P.S. I don't mind you using my pics, hope it helped someone (thats all I care about).

Good idea ercnan ;-)
And polishing feed ramps on any gun is a good idea in my book. ;-)
Matter of fact I normally polish any major moving part on all of my guns.

Those pics helped remind me. I checked by back feed lips and they were all REALLY tight, as in .322 or so, rather than even .345. I opened them up to .353-ish, but I never checked the front ones. Might be why they still won't feed 8 reliably. I'll have to check that now.

You should always check any mag for any gun IMO. Anything can happen from the manufacturing process to the final delivery to the customer. After all, there's allot of shipping and handling that can beat them up before they arrive on your doorstep. :-?

OK, rookie question. Before I break it off, how do you remove the bottom cap from the 995 magazine?

Thanks in advance,

~Mark

The best way is to get a flat head screwdriver in between the mag body and the base. Then pry it enough to
unhinge it from one side. Then hold it there with a screwdriver or something else small and flat and do the same on the other side. ;-)

Ok maybe im dum stupid and blind as a bat but i do not read anywhere stateing which model pistol this mag mod is for? which model is it in the pics? yall must telepathic comunacate cause it seems everyone knows what this mod is for but i see nothing no wher saying this mod and messurements are for the 45 40 380 or 9mm.
i own the new style .45 acp and just bought a 2nd clip and i had one of them harbor freight calpers laying around and thought i check messurements to yalls posted here. both of my mags messure .397 in the back and .430 in front messureing at the points shown and remessureing many times over and over to make sure im messureing the right points. i had no failures from the orignal mag with 350+ round and hope to have zero failure from new mag. but im confused with my messurment readings is it that this thread is shwing a differnt models messurements and photos?

Those measurements are for the 9mm. Never seen measurements for the others, but since you measured your mags, and they are both the same, I guess we now know what the .45 mag lips should be. Thank you. The other pics, showing the ramp polishing mod, would be for any of the HP pistols. Welcome to the forum. :welcome:
