I can put a rifle on sandbags on a bench rest and be OK until I start the trigger pull and that is when the tremors start.
Also I can be in a prone position using a sling and as I start getting on the trigger the tremors not only start in my trigger hand but my sling arm as well and the rifle bounces up and down.

I'm taking epilepsy medicine - 12 pills a day - and for the record, I don't have epilepsy, It's to help with my back pain and various other places that hurt.
An "off label prescription" is what they call it..

I have several weird thing that happen now.

Sometimes while typing, I'll type three of the same letter, because I think that medicine makes me "jittery" and have vibrating fingers...
Muscles are doing weird things they never used to do... temporary twitches and muscles moving on their own.

For instance - While sitting in my recliner with one foot resting on my knee, I'll look at the calf muscle....
And it's moving and looks like - well like water moving or something.

Doesn't hurt - and I can kind of feel it - but I don't think that's normal!!
I've asked a few different doctors about it several times and no real answers.
It's been happening for years and isn't getting any worse.

And occasionally while shooting off the bench trying to get that nice group...
I'll be slowly trying to pull the trigger.
And occasionally it gets pulled sooner than I expected or wanted it to!!

It's a good excuse for having that one "flyer" I guess... :D

I read Ex's link he has there and another one or two others and it sounds like the "shaking" or "tremors" is common.
There's "Intention tremors" and "Essential tremors"...
They don't know exactly what the cause is.

And it looks like it's basically just "tough sh*t" if you have it.
Sounds like there ain't nothing they can do about it...

Jason you might look up that med on the net and read about it... Ive heard of some meds that can give you twitches like that and they can become permanent even if taken off the med if you stay on it too long.

Guys I am afraid to say that we are all getting old, and while the mind is young, the body is worn.

Speak for yourselves, I'm fit as a fiddle.
Ok, it's a bass fiddle made form old splintery wood, but it still counts.
Some days I'm a rock, other days I weave back and forth like a sailor on shore leave, or a tree in the wind.

Jason, sounds like gabapentin. My wife is on it. It helps calm synapse's leading to a reduced feeling of pain. It's primarily for epilepsy as you said.

I've given up is my problem Walt, old is actually objective. It's obviously easier getting old if no body parts were used up in getting there. Nobody tells us as kids to not break bones, tear stuff under the skin, or resist having a great time as kids because some day we will remember in vivid detail each and every injury we ever had...And likely ignored because we are from a generation of non-snowflakes.

I hear you Randy, I did every job that you could imagine that is bad for your body. Plus played hard. Now I'm paying for it with interest. Neck, back, knees shot. 57 growing on 87. At least uncle sam is comping me now for the damage done in the military. Makes it a little better not having to worry about where the money is going to come from to pay the electric bill.

Sargent Alvin York must have been only man in history ,and Under extreme combat condition, to have killed 7 enemy,Germans, from the rear to the last one at the front attacking him with a standard issue pistol;the 1911! He was a crack rifle shot but bit many kbow what He did in combat with his 45pistol.Just unbelievable, but true.
